If I didn't start buying shit before doing the proper research I prob would have went with an axle setup like yours. I really thought the 1 ton setup was gonna be so cheap. I was sooooo wrong. No diff than a custom.

Yep. All the time and money spent on a used 1t can go towards a custom for roughly the same price.

Yeah, for sure. But, now I got my 14 bolt badge of honor and all the respiratory problems that came with it.

Sub. So much detail in this thread, I really dig that.

One thing I will say about boxing the rear is that the TG kit does not fully box the frame, it leaves the spot with the gas tank crossmember as c channel still since that is where the crossmember mounts in. I just bought a 4x8 sheet of 3/16" and made my own plates with the help of my buddy and his plasma, and then lifted the gas tank 2" as well to get it above the frame.

I guess theoretically since that section of frame is supported internally by the gas tank crossmember TG felt it wasn't necessary to box it (and it adds to to difficulty to the end user) but I figured if I am going to box the frame it might as well be FULLY boxed.

Thats nice! @02hilux sent a pic of his as well. I’m prob gonna do it. I want to run a Ford F-150 rear aux tank in the back instead of the bulky stock one but it’s gonna take a bunch of fab and I don’t think I’m gonna have the time to waste on it.

I think im finally done pressing shit til the front end. I am so sick of pressing bearings and fighting snap rings. I seriously hate those things. The snap ring that holds the wheel bearing in on these hubs is borderline impossible to get out without a specific snap ring plier.

That hub assembly was 16 wheel studs off and back on, 8 caliper bracket studs off and back on 2x but not counting that, and 4 bearing races off and back on. So 56 presses for just the 2 hubs. WTF!. Not including the 20 times I had to repress the pinion bearing.

A $2000 fully refurbished axle is sounding pretty good right now. Just re-gear and locker. Done.

She's back on all 4. Time to turn around and start the fun part. I'll wrap up the cleaning up and possibly boxing the rear when the final ride height is done.

Got the motor all ready to roll. I love how easy 3.4's are to pull. Gonna pluck it out manana and start doing all that crap and to make the frame easier to deal with.

Threw the ray 10's on the silver truck. Looks pretty good other than the mega lift in back.

Pulled motor. Its gonna be so much easier to do frame work now. Prob gonna cut the frame off and notch it. Seems a lot easier than cutting all that crap off. Im over that. Hope I have time tomorrow to push it out and clean engine bay and frame real good.

Just got to shop. Gonna bang this frame out if my chop saw holds up. This is the plan. I suck at drawing.
