So, I got a cheaper kit from Amazon for my 2017 Tacoma but wasn't satisfied with the brightness of the dome light. So I ordered a 3110-W10-CB in cool white from superbrightleds.com. I replaced and it lit up momentarily and went off? I reversed 180° still nothing and now no interior lights are working?

Did I blow a fuse? Does anyone have any ideas?? I hope it's an easy fix.......not been a good day......thanks for any ideas anyone may have and wonder if this light is incorrect? I've seen it posted a few times as being used in 2016s and supposedly the lights didn't change for 2017s??
Thanks again and hope this is no major screw up........

You probably blew the fuse. I blew mine the same way. Finished putting the led bulb in and changed the fuse and it was fine.

And you could have fried your BCM apparently.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
you had the polarity wrong and blew the fuse. It may have messed up your trailer lights or something else and may need to have your gauge cluster replaced. Keep an eye out for anything that's wrong.

Ok this is why when people have stomach pain and they google it, they think they have stomach cancer. Calm down. With any fixes, always start with the most basic and work from there. Don't try to put out fires that aren't even lit. Check all bulbs and make sure they are secure. Then replace the dome light fuse which probably blew. That should fix it. If the fuse still blows out, replace with the not as bright bulbs as it's probably overloaded.

    ^^ I'd listen to this
There is a reason they put fuses in. To help protect the wire loom and everything else.

And if the lights come on, make sure they go off when you shut the doors. If they don't, you likely blew the BCM as has been found before on here.

just sharing what happened to me..when I did that my trailer lights got messed up and I had to have the gauge cluster replaced.

replacing the fuse and switching the polarity of the bulb will not fix any other issues that may have ocurred

Body Control Module, one of the computers.

If you have the issue where the lights don't go out when you close the door, it's likely the issue. You could replace the bulbs with OEM and see if you can get it warrantied as it's probably a few hundred.

Is it located in the dash. one trailer tail light stayed on even with truck off and blinkers didn't work.

Well there you go. That is some helpful info right there. Which is also bummer.

Hope for OP that it's just a fuse.

I'm not sure. I think some have had it fixed with a new overhead console as well.

yes but my service managers are very cool about mods and probably didn't associate it with the lights

There are a variety of possible issues. You might have cooked the BCM, but that's a pretty thin chance. Try restoring the incandesant bulb.

Thanks for the info-I appreciate it, but this is some scary stuff talking about the BCM? Luckily, I dug around on the forums here and found out that it could be a fuse issue. The fuse box inside is a pain in the ass to get to, but there were some good pics on Tacoma World and I was able to locate the fuse and that seems to have solved the problem as things are working now. I don't have a trailer so not sure on that, but once I replaced the fuse interior LEDs worked.

Thing is this new dome LED 3110-W10-CB has been used by several other guys without issue?? It does seem 1-2mm too long, but now I'm scared to try it again as I put the smaller LED back in-just not bright enough??

Would anyone know of a brighter LED dome light other than this one??? It seems to be the same as a DE3022 which I have seen on the forums as well?? Thanks for any ideas??

I don't have any model numbers for you, but the cheaper LEDs can only go in one way or they will blow the fuse. incandescents and more expensive LEDs can be installed either direction. So if you put your LED back in in the other orientation it should work.

Thanks BarberRider!! I need to get some spare fuses anyway and left the cover off the fuse box to try again today. When I was putting the new one in yesterday I had left the dome light on-this time I'll kill the lights replace it and the light will work or blown another fuse......I don't think this new light had a polarity issue and can go in either way.....it just seems to be a bit too big?
