Has something to do with the way the cap roof is stamped. DC's have a whole different design than the AC. Regardless of trim level.
I can retrofit an access cab if you want!

I am interested in seeing what you do with an access cab light as well.

Had a little bit of time to work on it. There will be 3 red LED bars mounted from behind on a custom 3D printed panel.
Getting them to line up perfect with the lines in the Factory lens is a bit tricky.
Also, I am installing a flash module inside so the brake lights will flash a few times then stay solid when you press the brake:):)

They are bright!! even in the daylight AND behind the smoke tint

Looking good. I'll see how the final product turns out. Maybe thinking a lighter smoked look might match a white truck with the tails.. hmm

HAhaa. If I do these it will be a core exchange kinda thing. Too much work to get the light out, might as well swap it while the headliner is down.
Ya...dont get me started on the BTLM...
That is why I am pre-occupying my time with other enhancement mods.
I can do this mod on an all clear no problem. In fact, I am thinking about cutting an opening in the smoke right in front of the brake LED's to let even MORE light out. Have some red tint on hand as well...might even try that.

You are viewing the write up now:rofl:.
As far as kit....doubt it. Most of this stuff is custom and/or one-off. Not to mention the brake has to be cut open to retrofit it.
Also, pretty sure this is way past "twice as bright"

If enough people want it, I might. OEM 3rd brake lights are pricey new(~$120)plus all the LED mods I'm doing.

Custom brake light calls for a custom made panel:)

You may have noticed, I removed the smoke in the middle and replaced it with transparent Red film.

The red film helped out the intensity A TON!!!! I want this as bright as can be!
(camera probably can't pick it up, but damn these are bright)

Just waiting on my roof black vinyl so I can remove the antenna, brake light all in one shot. Gonna look sweet!:bananadance:

Wired, sealed back up, new foam.. ready to install.

This is not for the faint of heart. The entire rear section of the headliner needs to drop down in order to remove the nuts holding the light in.
