    Black roof makes it blend cleaner IMO
    [IMG]

    Added a silicone bead on top of the foam for double insurance. I have witnessed first hand(not mine) 2 brand new 3rd Gens where the OEM 3rd brake leaked from the factory.
    [IMG]

    Further back. Nobody would even know its not OEM..until it turns on:devil:

    Think I should yank the red tint and go all smoke?
    form vs function

    Now onto modding another one:)

    I agree, I like the full smoked look or potentially lightly smoked over red to match the tails

    Yours is cake. Access cab's are mounted from the outside... no need to drop the headliner. 2 exterior screws and it's out.

    And install wasn't that bad..
    -You need to remove 6 plastic headliner hooks(2 on the far back, and 2 on each side where the grab handles would have been)
    - unclip the left and right interior c pillar plastic covers(where the rear seat belts are going through)
    -pull down rear pass/drivers door weather stripping.
    After that.. the rear portion of the headliner will drop down. Gaining access to remove 3rd brake

    Right on man, sounds easy enough, the light came in today, unfortunately I am at work until 7pm..and....if I ask my wife to try to fit it, she would match it up to the headlight instead of the 3rd brake light......blondes, what you gonna do, you know.....all right man, i will be in touch this evening on fitment issues bro, thanks Stew....great light man, just great!

    WOW!!!
    This mod is probably one of the most useful mods if not THE MOST useful one I've ever seen in this forum. I'm also amazed how professionally the job got done. Extremely well done.

    Here is a dumb question (I have only 400 miles on my Taco).
    How do you turn on the cargo bed light on the Access Cab?

    Yes, I am working on a 2nd gen one.(same as 3rd gen access cab)

    Here are some updated pictures of my new V2 design. It has a custom made panel to hold the LEDS at critical angles. The cargo lights sit at ~45° for better bed illumination, while the brake lights are at ~60° for more directional light to the driver behind you. This isn't a thrown together light project.. I actually had to put some thought into it:rolleyes:

    Perfect fit;

    Here you can see the cargo and brake light angles.
    [IMG]

    And for those doubting the light output/coverage... here are JUST the cargo lights.
    (my trailer is 20' Plus another few to the garage) It's plenty bright with awesome spread.

    Just curious but have you left them on for an extended period of time and checked to see how hot they get as opposed to stock?

    good question! I left the cargo lights on for ~2 hours. The outer lens was warm, but nothing to be concerned about. Obviously more light=more power=more heat VS stock. I would not recommend leaving them on for LONG periods of time. I have actually thought about a temp shut down sensor..maybe for version 3.0:D

    Another one all finished for @bacon_st :cheers:

    CLEAN AND STEALTH;
    [IMG]

    You can see how the Cargo Light LED's line up perfect with the factory lens diffusers(not an accident;)
    [IMG]

    New foam, and seem welded. I want it to look OEM as possible
    [IMG]

    Can you even tell where it was cut open? It wasn't... this is all factory:p

    Nice work! 2nd gens could really use these since we don't have any cargo lights, and no good plug and play options exist.
