Came across this thread and thought I would share my latest backpacking trip into the Wind River Mountains here in Wyoming. Hopefully they turn out ok . . .

This is just a few miles from the Big Sandy Trail Head

Some camping pics from 3 days in the white mountains in NH. We went a few weeks ago and spent the first day at the site and at the Upper Ammonoosuc Falls.

Spent the next day hiking Mount Eisenhower (4,761' not quite like Wyoming) and across the ridge to descend down Mt. Pierce (4,310').

The next day, back to the Ammonoosuc Falls for beers and floating and tailgate grilling and beers.

Awesome hike. I am going up again in a couple of weeks for kayaking, hiking, and camping.

Thanks! No higher than 4000'? Wow, I currently live at almost 6400'. Dizzy spells come quite often then you get used to it. I had altitude sickness when we hiked up Burstat peak in Colorado, elevation was about 14,000’!

Great pics!! Up were we were at, a lot of glacial lakes, WAY too cold to do any swimming, dogs loved it though. Fishing was good too. Caught some nice sized Golden Trout, they love the high altitude lakes.

Wow! I went skydiving and jumped out at 14,000'.

At the falls there were mini salmon jumping up stream. It was awesome. Some ppl were fishing for them, but I didn't have a permit. One jumped up right next to me in a shallow cascade with an inch of water. I almost caught it with my hands! I slapped it to the side, but it hit a rock and bounced back in the water and swam down the cascade. I slid down after it, but it got away.

I woulda bear grylls that sht and take a bite outa it. Salmon sushi.
