Headed to Seattle to hike around Mt. Rainier. One of these days I want to climb Mt. Whitney. I may actually be going through MT. Stay tuned! :D
this. I let at least 4 people know. Parents, friends, and the ranger station.

Lemme know when you get here if you want someone to show you around. Also -- if you want to catch a Mariners game...uh...I might be able to swing that. :D

well i just got done testing my trangia for burn time. It burned 100ml fuel in 27 min. Not the most fuel efficent out there, but its not to bad. plus that thing cranks out some heat! i can boil 24 oz of water in around 5 min or less depending on the pot

sweet! I will definitely let you know! It will probably be around the june/july area I am guessing. I am just now starting on planning the trip so I have nothing written down for sure yet. One good thing is I will be out of college and actually have some $$$ in my pockets for once in a life time.

If you're doing Mt. Rainier area, the Wonderland Trail is great. It completely circumnavigates the base of the mountain. About 93 miles.

Some destinations inside the National Park are Paradise and Sunrise. Paradise has a great visitor's center and some easy-to-moderate trails (many paved!) with lots of cool scenery and wildlife -- especially marmots. I kind of like Sunrise better because it's less crowded and the views are just as good if not better. The only difference is you need to be up early for the good light -- hence, Sunrise.

If you want a challenge, you can hike to Camp Muir. It's the overnight camp for people who attempt Rainier. You don't need a permit to go to Muir, but to go above you would. I go up there from time to time to work on my glacier travel.

Behind Camp Muir is the Muir snowfield, where you can ski/snowboard pretty much year round. You have to hike it, but it makes for a quick descent!

Let me know if you want more info.

pros - easy to get in and out of the truck and very portable, they holds tons of stuff, the inside pouches can be used separately leaving the outer bag for even more stuff....

cons - they tend to slide off of the back seat (was sort of expecting that), they hold tons of stuff

nice. I used to drink the hell out of mellow yellow. Haven't seen it around very much lately though.

Luckily for me, I don't get poison ivy. Got it bad as a kid but that was the end of it. benadryl!

I have NEVER had it before....thats why i was so shocked i got it. But this is a pretty severe case. Depending on swelling i may administer a corticosteriod shot. we will see what it looks like in the morning.
