Debating what I'm doing this coming weekend...I was going to go to Grand Teton (got to check on my elk ) but that's usually a 3 day trip. I have the opportunity to pick up some OT at work next week so I don't want to miss Monday. Now I'm thinking about going over Beartooth Pass and the north side of Yellowstone instead for a 2 day, 1 night trip. Problem is I don't know where to camp over in that area. :goingcrazy:

Things are cooling down quickly here, fall has arrived, so I'm in a panic to get out as much as possible while the weather is still holding out!

He's mine. Riley goes camping on occasion. Most recently, I took him to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. He's even stayed in a motel or two

Hiking to Gregory Bald the weekend of Nov. 12 via Gregory Ridge Trail outta the back side of Cades Cove, will be testing out my MSR Miniworks EX that just got delivered Monday!

Not a camping trip but I'm hoping to do a kayak fishing trip down the lower Ocoee in the next few weeks, last trip caught about 30 on topwater in 5 hours.

I am SO jealous of this, I WANT TO DEBATE WHETHER IM GOING TO GRAND TETON OR YELLOWSTONE!!!!:mad::D

    :sorry:

I'll probably be fine with just Yellowstone this weekend...I'm sure I'll get another chance to hit up Grand Teton in 2 weeks anyways :D

ip0wn users will appreciate an app that I am using called "Campwhere". It helps locate campsites that are near you. You can also search for sites by name or location (using the 'nearest' feature).

The app gives phone numbers and details on the campground. It's remarkably informative and includes State Parks, National Forests and so on.

You need cell/WiFi service for it to work properly. Pretty handy app to have when you're at the end of the day and not 100% sure where you'll camp

I just looked at this. Seems pretty cool. I'm sure it doesn't include backcountry campsites, though.

I might have to splurge and get this app.

If it's a Forest Service campground, you're probably gonna find it.

But if you wanted to pick a site at say Rae Lakes, probably not going to find it (Sequoia & Kings Canyon backpack trip).
