From what I've been reading off the Net it seems like a decent hike to get to the summit. Are you allowed to camp on the summit or are there designated sites?

I think there were no camping signs on the summit but if you go down about 40-50 yards you can camp.

They make awesome sandles and they are like flippers when you swim. I did trade my pair in for a set of sperry flops because the keens kept marking the deck of the boat.

i dont remember....is old rag on white blaze or a blue blaze? as long as there are no "no camping" signs you can set up camp. no one really goes around checking.

That's about what I'll be doing :D I'm majoring in Parks and Recreation Management. I'd really like to find a job guiding groups on rafting, kayaking, or backpacking expeditions.

Another way to look at it is to be a "career hiker" where you work just enough to fund your next adventure. Requires a complete lifestyle change though.

Oh yeah, my school's campus rec department is selling kayaks and camping gear! Too bad I'm broke :pout:

That guy is fucking awesome! I love his minimalist vids on youtube, his self sustainable house is badass too!

His partner Dave resides in Eastern Ohio which I think is pretty cool, since I grew up pretty close to there. He has his own Survival school out there.

Just ordered a new sleeping pad for my Gf.
    http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___45399

Its very similar to by Big Agnes Air Core but has a integrated pump inside the mattress. Interested to see this feature as my BA pad can be a pain to blow up after a nice long hike. I wanted to get either the same pad I had or one with the same dimensions so the pads would fit nicely together. I'll give a review once I get it.

Next on the list. Monarch Butterfly chair, and Sven saw! Also, need to replace my camelbak bladder

Cody is a badass hands down. I have seen a few people trying to do the barefoot thing.

I absolutely love my Monarch chair and the Sven saw is badass as well. I got the 15". Works great. The new camelback bladders are pretty nice. They have built in drying hooks and stuff.

I will be watching for your review on the BA pad. Sounds nice!
