I don't have any trouble burning my hand on it. That cover around it provides enough material that it doesn't really bother me. I would just put a cloth or something between your hand and the cup.

I got to go on a backpacking trip this weekend up to Black Balsam Knob with my brother in law and my friend. Got nice and cool the first night but I was toasty warm in my setup. There were lotsa great views from the top and it was super windy. My only complaint was there were quite a few people up there, but that's what you get when you've got a parking lot 1/2 a mile away, but even so it's nice to see people gettin' outside and enjoying themselves.

    Pictures!!!

Ah the steam. I have that problem too. I leave the lid on just covering it and not completely on so when I go to take it off, I can lift it off nice and quick. first time I did that my fingers looked like lobsters from the steam burns
Awesome pics! Glad you had a good time!

Lol yeah if I werent going to be rappelling my weight would be in the mid 20's to low 30's. Which is actually a little less than normal for my winter pack weight.

    Few pics of the tent:

It's pretty cozy, haha. I think it will work well though. More than enough room to stretch out and it seems like condensation won't be an issue because the rain fly is spaced out from the screen. I haven't staked it out so I'm not quite sure how large the vestibule will be, but it seems big enough now for my pack.

It actually is pretty tall! I was surprised by how easily I can sit up once inside. I'll be camping in comfort in a few weeks

This thread is awesome. I'm getting more and more excited to own my new Tacoma with each enthusiast thread I read. I usually go backpacking each summer. My favorite place is Canyon Creek in the Trinity Alps of Northern California. I'll try to find some pictures of the falls and lakes to post when I get home.

Sierra Designs Vapor Light 1. I found it for $120 shipped...it wasn't too difficult, and now that I've set it up it should assemble in just a few minutes.

I broke in my new headlamp on a night wheeling trip. First of all the 200 lumes spotlight Is awesome Even with poor night vision due to all the Offroad lights i could spot around tight corners and see far enough down the trail to not have to walk lenghts of it before spotting something through. The only down side is this thing MURDERS batterys only one hour at max spot:infantry:.
Even with buying CR123's for about a buck each online i blew through $6 in batterys (in stores they are about $6 ea). When you use the 4 normal LED's the burn time is in the normal range of other headlamps but you need to be careful of how often you turn the Spot on.
