This thing is massive. It probably weighs about 70lbs I would say. It just barely fits in the trunk of my Mazda.

I made something similar years ago. Though it's heavy, I like the idea cause it keeps all your car camping stuff in one place. Just repack it and you're ready to go next time.

Mine didn't have the flip top but was otherwise the same. Easy to build too.

That is one thing I do like about it. I have all my car camping kitchen stuff inside it and my other stuff like tent, tarp, rope, etc in a big plastic tote.

Those chutes up at the top are awesome. Perrgin through them is a trip.

And cheeseburgers and beer at the Portal FTW!

No more campfires....no more s'mores.... :pout:

Gallatin County Commissioners voted today to enact a county-wide burn ban beginning at 5 p.m. Friday.
The ban does NOT include a ban on fireworks. Commissioners decided to leave the decision of whether or not to ban fireworks up to individual districts. That decision will be left to cities, towns and individual fire districts.
Bozeman firefighters issued a statement today, saying the City of Bozeman will be activating a burn ban as of 5 p.m. Friday. This means no open flames ie.. bon fires, permit burns etc. and the fire department is urging people to be careful while using fireworks which at this time ARE NOT banned.
Meanwhile, the Big Sky Fire Department is strongly urging people NOT to use fireworks this year due to the fire danger.

Tried to go for a hike today...but I ran into snow so I had to turn around. Where I was heading is a great place for wildflowers. Once I saw how much snow was still lingering in the area I figured that there was no way any flowers would be blooming :(

Welp.... My backpacking adventures are going to be put on hold for a while it looks like. Between finding a new job, getting engaged this weekend, and getting ready to buy a house, I have a lot on my plate and gotta make "big kid" decisions now.
