Typical plumber. Goes for a hike and takes a picture of a pit toilet.

Alrighty campers I need ya'lls opinion on tents.

Would only be used car camping and only a handful of times a year, so I dont need something superlight, alu poles, etc. Max capacity would be 2 + dog...he's a pup still but expecting 70lbs max weight. I definitely want a vestibule and looking to spend ~$100.

I'm thinking a 3 person tent would be plenty, here's a couple I'm thinking about
    Cabelas Getaway 4
    Kelty Gunnison Pro
    Kelty Gunnison 3
    Slumberjack 4
    Bass Pro 4 Dome
    Coleman Hooligan 3

If it was strictly for car camping and I had to fit 2 adults and a dog the Cabelas Getaway would provide the most room. Center height is a little less than the other tents, but more floor space. Only downside is this tent only has 1 door. It's nice to have 2 doors which then provides 2 vestibules with the rain fly on.

Both Kelty's have the same floor space, but the gunny pro has an additional 3" center height, doesn't sound like much until you attempt to stand up in the tent. A bonus I feel of these 2 tents are that both of them have 2 doors. My first choice would be 1 of these 2 tents, probably the gunny pro over the regular gunny.

I wouldn't even consider any of those other tents you provided links to.

Just my $0.02 and personal experience - I had a Gunnison 2 (got moldy, my fault) and got a Grand Mesa 2 to replace it. I love Keltys! They hold up well, are very simple designs, quick to set up.

Check out backcountry.com and campsaver.com for deals. I get emails every so often with 20% off coupons, etc. so sign up for the emails to get the best deal

And honestly...your budget of $100 for a 3(+) person tent will buy you crap quality. If you are going to buy something, might as well do it right the first time!

Yeah its really between the Cabelas and the Gunnison Pro. I wish I could find the floor thickness of the Kelty since with the dog I feel like I'd choose whichever is thicker.

Thanks Lisa! almost 2x thickness, alu poles, 2 doors, seems like those bits make it a better fit for my scenario than the slightly larger footprint of the cabelas tent. Plus Cabelas has the Gunnison Pro for half of since it's the older model (3.1 vs new 3.2)

The outfitter pro has even heavier fabrics
    Pole type:
    DAC Pressfit

    Wall material:
    75D Polyester, 40D Mesh

    Floor material:
    210D Nylon, 3000 mm

    Fly material:
    75D polyester, 1800 mm

buuut...judging from the price that's a newer design so good luck finding it on sale anywhere!

Remember you are going to need to purchase a footprint to go with that tent, I do not believe it comes with one.

now, when the tent arrives, take the cheap ass aluminum stakes and throw them in the garbage. go to REI and purchase these. They are the only stakes that have ever survived a trip with me. The aluminum stakes always end up looking like "&" when I'm done with them

I agree with throwing away the crap stakes that come with the tent. I have about 20 of these stakes and they are bomb proof

    http://www.rei.com/product/682543/msr-ground-hog-stake

You obviously don't need anywhere near 20 of them, I just happened to have found them locally on sale plus I wanted enough for both of my tents and both hammocks.

According to a review online, the pro's come with nobendium stakes.

I dont know what that means but it sounds like some fancy space metal.
