The Lowas I have are comfy and well built but they just won't grip the ground. I've slipped several times in them.

Can you re-sole them with something different?

If you want grip pick up a pair of approach shoes, they are aimed at climbers but they are fantastic hiking shoes. Made by several different brands in a bunch of different styles

I agree with trail runners that fit your feet the best. Also water proof equals slower to dry out when they get wet...and they will get wet.

Mostly Arizona, we have a loot of sharp rocks, I prefer something with high ankle and water-resistant.

I run around like a monkey on rocks at work (similar terrain to south mountain) w/ my approach shoes but they aren't high ankle. They are fantastic at what they are designed for which is hiking and light rock climbing.

I have a pair of keen (I think, not sure I cant look because im not home) hiking boots that have done really well for me but now I pretty much exclusively use my approach shoes.

You're right! It's right up there with people who drag 5th wheels around and call that camping... But nonetheless it's a sweet piece of kit

The Big Agnes gear is great! Love the way the bag and pad are integrated. If I didn't already have an Exped and another bag, that's what I'd be looking at.

I love my big Agnes tent. My girlfriend has one of their pads. I've used it a couple times and we both really like it.

I emailed your customer service team asking where to send my resume to see if there were anything open with you all and they gave me Chris Tamucci's email address. I sent it over in a email. More or less like a cold call version of an email expressing my interest.
