hahaha yeah. I am curious to find out really what it involves. I wouldn't mind being paid to follow a bunch of backpackers and throw some band aids on their hands when they fall. :D

Here is the facebok page that will explain a little more for that Outdoor Adventure.

I am about to get that to replace my stock tarp for my Hennessy. There is not enough space under the stock one to put my gear if it starts raining or anything so I think the 12x12 will work great. Plus it will provide some more protection under me and give some extra warmth.

i have been using the exact tarp exclusively for the past two years. it's fantastic. it packs down really small in diameter but is a little long. the stakes that come with it are crap and i replaced them after the first use.

I just got a tarp from a TW member just like this, its actually the older model of the Noahs Tarp. I've only used it once, but I can tell that its built to last. The seams are sealed right off the bat, the stitching is tough, and the material is durable. Kelty is just a good brand in general.

Also because of the shape, it can be set up in multiple ways. Look it up on youtube, there are a lot of versatile figurations.

same here! I have always wanted to do something like that. After seeing that show on the Discovery Channel, Out of the Wild, I have always wanted to do something like that.
Glad someone has it and can say something good about it. Looks a bit heavy at 2 pounds and the 16' at 6, but it beat the 10x8 walmart tarp I have been carrying at 5-6

As much as i would love to add to my kelty collection, Im not shur i trust that shape of tarps. they just look like they dont give enough cover in the event of rain IMHO. Plus the ENO tarps are only 22 oz

I also would not trust that kelty tarp for anything. I did lots of research before buying tarps for my hammock set ups and I wound up going with 2 different tarps.

1st tarp is my largest tarp and its a Backwoods Daydreamer winter dream v.2 with side pull outs on both sides, 11' ridge line, 10' wide x 13' long, weighs in @ 22oz. Tarp is able to be pitched various different ways. Cost me $105

My 2nd tarp is a small hex tarp by Warbonnet Outdoors http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/

its called the edge and it weighs in @ 10oz

Also other tarp manufacturers that make great products as well

After I'm done being a total NOMAD lol, I like to sit down to a good book or mag. Just wondering if anyone else did this, and what your reading?

Anyone recommend any good books to take along camping, IE anything about camping, traveling, adventure, etc.

I finished "Into the wild" again and I usually bring some "Backpacker" mags. But I'm just curious to what others are reading on the trail.

    Thanks!

thanks for the info man. I like that day dreamer but the price  I am sure it is worth every penny though.
I really like "A Walk Across America" and the other sequels to that book, "Looking for Alaska" and "The Walk West".

If you like spy novels, the Splinter Cell series is pretty good.

I tend to bring a James Michener book with me camping. He's a great writer, and most of his books focus on a certain place, instead of a certain person. The books bring you threw thousands of years of history and a bunch of different characters that are connected to that place. I've found them to be really entertaining. It is historical fiction, so it's not like they are true documentaries, but the way he writes keeps bringing me back into them.

Who has time to read out camping?!?! I'm on the go most of the day and when I do sit and relax I usually just end up being hypnotized by the campfire.

I'm off to get my new backpack...Osprey Sirrus 24. now the toughest decision of all! Purple? Or blue? :goingcrazy:

I did end up with the blue...only because it was all REI had in stock. I like to stand out when I'm hiking...too many  people here with guns and no common sense.

Now to get everything all moved in!
