    I've used the Heater Meals. Pretty good! they are heavy as hell though.

    YEAH, they are! Am surprised by that. And most of that ends up sitting in your stomach. Ack! Think it might all work out evenly in the end, though, when you consider packing butane, stove, utensils, etc.

    I haven't had any freeze-dried stuff for a while now. Maybe I should pick some up for the fun of it.

    Do you hike to locations, or drive-in? My last couple have been drive-ins (was on a road trip). Need to find new hike-ins, though.

    I hike in all the time. Actually, can't remember the last time I drove in or car camped for that matter. I gotta have my meals as light, yet as filling as possible. The last few mountain house meals I have had did not sit well on my stomach and there was way too much rice.
    that sounds pretty damn good! what do you do with the spam as far as storing it? I don't like taking metal containers in the trail because I have to pack them out. I usually put everything in separate gatorade bottles so I can burn the bottle (or use it as a drinking container) when I am done.

    My body is much different when I'm outside hiking/camping rather than at home or in the office. It's weird.
