Truth is the night before, someone awoke to find a young mountain lion 'playing' with their backpack dont know if a tent wall would have helped. :D

I'm looking forward to the rausch creek wheeling trip this weekend. Weather is supposed to be rainy so it will give me a good chance to try out my new msr hubba hubba tent. I also decided to treat myself to a new sleeping pad for car camping trips.. It's the thermarest dreamtime xl. It is ridiculous.. I think it's like 3 inches thick plus 1 inch of memory foam on top of it. Gonna sleep realllll good. Also picked up a thermarest Neo air for backpacking. Can't believe how light/comfortable it is, and even though it's not self inflating it is surprisingly easy to blow up

I picked up a Mutha Hubba a while back for motorcycle camping and just recently, an Exped SynMat 9--that thing is cush!

Heading back to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. This photo is from last weekend's camp.

Nice! What kind of motorcycle do you have? I just picked up a triumph sprint st so I figure I could do some nice weekend trips on it.

I'm really jealous of that camp site!

The camp site is in the Sierras and easy to reach--it was a 4x4 trip.

    I'm currently riding a KTM 990 Adventure.

Has anyone in the Los Angeles area been to a "good" camping site within 1-2.5 hr drive that is 4x2 accessible next to a river for fishing and separated camping sites? I looked up camp Williams and South Fork campgrounds but both seem like group camp grounds (I like to get as far away from other people when I go camping). Also do they require fire permits and is clean water near by?

    You're from Montana?

And I could never live in a big city! I get claustrophobic around all those buildings....

Not from Montana, northern California, but I have camped all over including a couple canoe trips into the great lakes away from any motor assisted transportation and a few one week backpack trips.
