Once again, China has done it.

Now introducting, the knock-off Prinsu, for cheap asses like me!

These are available on eBay and Amazon. I paid $222 with 15% off from eBay. Some first things I can notice are:
-No T-Slots. Not a big deal IMO as with this cheap rack, I’ll be fine using bolt holes or drilling my own
-Wrinkle Black Paint (I think)? Looks textured. Not the biggest fan, but whatever
-Apparently there are numbers stamped on the laser cut out sides. Meh. Maybe it’ll look like I belong to Overland Bound or something now
    -Weight: ~60lbs. A Prinsu is 50, a Frontrunner is 67.
-Hardware: Apparently, too short if you want to go through the drip railing (drill straight through). But if you cut out sections, you’ll be just fine
-Load Capacity: “Up to 330 lbs”
    -Fairing Design: Butt ugly
-Crossbars mount super high. Maybe I’ll think of a way to lower it if it’s an issue

If you care to watch me install it when I get it, check out my Youtube Channel: Socalexpeditions

I’ll be the test dummy for us. Here are some pictures. Stole a few from someone who posted it on Tacoma World Facebook.

There's been like 6 different knockoff designs to date. One was even pretty popular on here. Ask @geekhouse23 about his opinion of the Martin Rack...

Reg cab so this doesn't concern me but so far most of the copycats have been only slightly cheaper than the Prinsu. This is rack is budget priced to where you can get the rack and have plenty of money left over for a snorkel, lighting accessories etc.

Just hopefully it isn't TOO cheap in quality.

    Where have you been?

I wouldn't trust the construction quality or the powder quality of the paint. When steel rusts and it rains, the rust water drips onto and transfers to the vehicle paint. You see this a lot with construction vans and their ladder racks.

Didn't even catch that it was steel. Very good point.

I always thought the same thing. If I'm paying that much I'll just get a aluminum rack made for about the same price.

Like I said, strip it completely, find a local PC'er with QUALITY powder and get it resprayed. Still have to keep an eye on it if you use it.

Get an aluminum one and never worry.

I have mine sitting by my front door. Might return it and get a Martin, still TBD. Will decide tomorrow.
