    Wait. So we have to buy a harness adapter? I thought the V5 was plug and play, especially if you have puddles. So there is another harness required to make them plug and play for the 2016-2019 models? It says "DRL Harness" so maybe this is to ensure it stays on as a Daytime running light?

    @MESO, can you please clarify?

    harness Adaptor is for use without the puddle harness. Or the V1 puddles that did not have the adaptor

    Taco, please excuse my ignorance... I have a 2021 without the puddle pods and with the LED headlights, do I need the harness? I realize it says 2016-2019 but I just want to make sure. Seems like we're in the final hour before release...

    Edit #1: I plan on getting the puddles as soon as they're back in stock along with the switch. I sold my last truck and didn't feel like taking the puddles out for my new truck.

    Yeah, I remember months ago, MESO sent out an email for people who had the OEM LED's vs the OEM DRL LED from the factory to gauge on what harness to make and maybe quantities?

    maybe the OEM LED headlight connecters are still in the works vs the 16-19 model harness? Or maybe the other option just hasn't been updated on the site yet?

    Technically the only real difference is if your truck came from the factory with LED headlights (MX-150 connector) vs didn't. Rather than the specific model year (though prior to 2020 we know the trucks did not have that option). So, while you can call it the "16-19" harness, it's really more aptly described as "the halogen headlight harness".

    I have a 2018 Offroad but I'm running the XB led headlights. If I understand correctly, I'll still need the optional harness Meso is selling?

    I suspect we will have more info very soon but in order to tap the DRL signal, the easiest spot is at the headlight connector. I’m not 100% sure I understand the functional differences of the v5 with DRL vs not, but I’m sort of assuming it’s the difference between running with the v5’s in “DRL mode” whenever the truck is on vs whenever the DRL stalk is on. In which case it’s a bunch of extra work to be able to turn the v5 DRL off with stalk off if you usually run DRL’s on. I am curious to see them in real life though.

    The harness is mainly to have the mirror DRL’s to dim along with the headlight DRL’s. I’m gonna try and get the amber/amber, and therefore don’t need them to dim. So my plan is to wire the DRL’s into the parking light circuit. My scoop mounted raptor lights are on the parking circuit, so I want the mirror DRL’s to match. Plus that way I can shut all lights off from the stalk…

    So, thinking about the dimming, it seems like that is still doable based on the parking light signal. So if the v5 DRL input is off ignition (I.e. Canadian style always-on) then parking lights flip on, the v5 would know to dim even if the DRL signal is still present? I assume it’s smart enough to do that but I’m not sure we will know until they are out in the wild.

    Perhaps more to the point, I can’t see MESO going to the trouble of tapping DRL just to make the dimming logic easier to do. I assume it’s entirely about being able to turn everything off at the stalk, other than the turns.

    We definitely need Meso to chime in here to bring light. Seems like there are many configurations of set ups (i.e. some with Halogen, some have LED DRL, some have puddle pods, etc.) Hopefully Meso can give us some direction on what to purchase.

    I *think* my understanding of expectations matches what MESO wrote but again, until it's tested / known in the wild I hesitate to say with certainty how it _will_ work.

    I mean, I build stuff all the time for my day job which is supposed to do something and then when QA gets their hands on it, it does something different.
