Apologies if this has been answered. I see info about 2016-2020 NON LED Trucks needing the extra harness, and then info that 2021 LED OEM trucks will have a solution coming in the future, but, what I haven’t seen is anything about 2021 NON LED trucks.

Any reason Meso is specifically mentioning only 2016-2020 non LED trucks needing the harness?

Your 2021 non LED falls into the 16-20 variable

I think I have the V2 puddles with the little future plug that was going to be used for the turn signals. I was thinking about running the extension wires to the engine bay and just zip tying them until a harness comes out

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Believe it or not Meso actually made 3 puddle lights but I think I have his only original set.

I have morimoto xb v2 headlights. Can anyone tell me if I would need the harness? I ordered a set without the harness and not sure how difficult the install would be

From my understanding it isn’t about the headlights that you have now, it is about what your truck originally came with. So if your truck came without LEDs, you’ll need the harness.

I totally get that making a video is very time consuming but. . . I think it would be extremely beneficial for those customers who purchased the V2 puddle pods and now have purchased the V5 Switchbacks to have a video for install. These customers are obviously loyal MESO Customers AND looking through this Stream there seems to be a lot of confusion about the install and the DRL option. Maybe if MESO can't someone can make a video of their install with the V2 and V5 relationship.

    Maybe I don't follow.

I feel the video was made for everyone with and without puddles.

Just connect the DRL lead to your puddle connector with the supplied adaptor.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I just saw the write up on the Meso page, seems extremely straightforward and the path of least resistance and will probably just go that route unless there are any super negative downsides. I really appreciate you and Dave's input here, thanks so much for your advice.

So if you have the puddles the DRL will work, but if you want them to function with the headlight stock then you need to wire them to the headlight itself?

    Correct.
If the puddle lights have the pig tail 2-pin connector for the V5's. The first batch of (150+/-) I believe that came out in May 2019 did not have this. All revised batches after this should have them.

    Nothing major
Here's what I'm referencing, by @daveeasa : https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/led-headlight-t-tap.737915/#post-26269700 He's encouraging folks to buy Meso's once it's available, but this is the one for now.

Still hoping for some clarity/confirmation from @MESO on the correct wire selection, but I believe it's red ->DRL, white -> parking lights. You'll extend the red/white out of the switchbacks, through the firewall and to the (drivers side seems easier) headlight. This should enable factory functionality with the stalk. Sounds like I'm towards the front of the line, I'll post up my results as soon as I receive all of it.

I wanted the amber DRLs but I settled for white. If anybody ends up wanting to switch, Lmk.

i definitely ordered the amber drl to match mori xb amber drl, but checking my order status it says white drl... seeing all these posts kinda makes me think there was something messed up in the ordering process. hope we can get this fixed!

edit: also sent a support ticket on my order

I submitted a ticket yesterday and today got an email saying that my ambers will be switched to white. Also added the wiring harness.

    Thanks @MESO

I have these made by a different company and on my passenger side half the lights quit working, TWICE.
I can't wait to get these and install them. They appear to be a much higher quality product than what I currently have.
