My overhead lights function normally unless the puddle switch is in auto. Then they don't turn off at all.

I didn't tap the puddle circuit. I connected the pigtail connector that game with the v5 to the red and white cables on the v5. Then I connected the pigtail connector to the wire that was extra from the puddles.

Here's what I did. I took the pigtail two pin connector that came with the v5 and spliced in the red and white cables from the v2 into the pigtail. Then, I plugged the pigtail into the extra wire that was ran with the puddles. Then, I connected the turn signal connector from the v5 to the stock one on the truck.

    Do the puddles function correctly?

No. They won't turn off unless I unplug the battery. The switch has no effect on them.

My guesstimate is you have a bad switch. Remove the harness T that mates the switch to the puddle circuit, and mate the ends as if no switch is there to chose ON/OFF/Auto.

I’m so confused… I have OEM LEDs on my 2020, so I didn’t buy the harness. Should I have bought it to get the V5s to work with my DRLs, or is there an easy solution for someone who doesn’t know a rat’s about wiring. I need a video walkthrough. o_O:(:anonymous:

Nope, the one available is not the one for your vehicle. But it's in the works.

I thought that as well. Unplugging the switch still left the lights on. I will try taking the harness out though and report back. Thanks all for the help!

If the switch is not present and the circuit goes ON, then you have the puddle ground wire pinched.

Is there a difference between unplugging the cable that goes into the switch and removing the harness? Sounds like I pinched the ground on the puddles , most likely when pulling the cable through with the yellow wire for the mirror power (factory)

Wound that cause my overhead lights to stay on while the switch is on auto?

With the switch removed you could check continuity from the output of the switch to the puddle connector. No need to open the door panel, window down, puddle light panel removed, puddle lamp disconnected. Carefully probe the connector pins on the face to the removed switch harness. Battery ground removed before you play.

Yes, if you're talking about the overhead switch in auto.
Edit: Actually the input from door open (door frame, not at door) and unlock signal is the input that activates the ILE ground in the Main Body ECU. So now the wormhole is pulling harder....hmmm. You might have the unlock wire (very small gauge) pinched to ground.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Well mine came yesterday a day early. I originally ordered white DRL and later changed my mind to Amber since I already have white with my LE's. For those who changed their orders, my invoice shows original order of white but the correct Amber's were sent. Also decided to bench test and everything is working fine. So far it seems like the led issues are all Drivers side? :notsure:
