Just got mine installed! Luckily no dead LEDs! Haven’t ran the cables for DRL yet. Waiting to see what others come up with. First impressions right now are is I don’t feel like they need to be dimmed at night but I’ll look at them again when it’s pitch black.

Quick question: for those who also had the v2 puddle pods with the connector for the v5 signals, is there a connector that is supposed to come with the v5s to plug it all together?

The puddle pod connector doesn’t plug and play directly with the one on the v5 light (too big) and the cables that came with the v5s are all male (like the ppod connector). My guess is I forgot to order something but figured I’d ask here to see what I missed. Thanks ahead of time and sorry if this has already been asked.

Oh, that’s pretty tricky about the notes at checkout. I didn’t see that. Figured I’d probably make my own anyway.

He also asked folks to create a ticket if they forgot to add the note per here.

One of my puddle pod connector wires looks like it may have gotten crimped in the door or plastic casing somehow…so sadly (but hopefully not) I may be in the same boat of having to make something custom

Well I’ve broken one of the tabs on the mirror covers. Does anybody know what the part number is for the mirror caps? Don’t want to color match it just wanted to be the black plastic like the step on the bumper.

Got around to installing mine. I took the same route as @Tacospike and used my existing DRL wiring from my LE install. So I didn't use the Headlight DRL Harness and its extension.

For comparison, LE DRL then Signal Flash.
    IMG_20210928_175533_614.jpg IMG_20210928_175625_984.jpg

While not in the same lightning condition, the V5s have a brighter DRL at a slightly higher color temp.

I went with reverse sequentials. While still bright, the amber is noticeably dimmer than the LEs. Like the amber on the LEs literally hurt to stare at. But I absolutely love the reverse sequential animation, so I think the trade off was worth it.

I think the most difficult thing about the install was taking out the LEs... It had 3x more wiring, and a driver box, so everything was tucked in there tight. Didn't help that I also have the wiring for the power folding mirror in there too...

The V5's box is perfect for the LEs and all its wiring.

V5s are a perfect 11 out of 10, would buy again.

I went with reverse sequential as well.

For sure, the LE's I feel were definitely ahead of there time and still great compared to anything on the market now, years later. Still a great contender compared to the V5's also.

When I started taking mine out I forgot about all the wiring the LE's had haha. I started to take out all the wiring and thought, oh crap, the driver box on the bottom.

Taking out that little box was a pain. Miraculously got it out, thought I would have to tear apart the whole mirror. I also have no idea how I even got it in there with its adhesive pad in the first place...

Thank goodness the V5s are much more simpler.

Meso has some of the best packaging in the game. It's so clean. I wish his dealers would stop slapping giant skew stickers all over them. I like keeping them to hold what I'm replacing.

    Yeah, V5 was a breeze

I remembered having to take off the lower mirror section for the DD box

Whoops, missed this when I went to order the drl harness. Might still use it later, though. Gonna have to wait til the 2-pin connector arrives, too, because I I missed that post from Meso back on the 20th. Doh!

Is there anything I can do to better sync up the blinking with the headlights? Running regular blinker flashes it a half second after the headlights (but not fully opposite them), and seq/rev seq both seem to be a hair slower to illuminate, but much closer in timing.

Also if anyone knows where the extra wiring is off of the puddle v2's, it's been too long since I installed them and have forgotten--do I need to take the door apart again or are they tucked in somewhere? I didnt see any leads or anything in the main area of the assembly (only took off the painted cover, not bottom or any other piece)

So I bought 2 sets of the V5's, one amber drl for me & one white for my daughter which she'll get for an xmas gift. The boxes are identical same markings same numbers.

So how do I tell which is which??
