I just went out and measured the scrap of wire that I cut off of your harness when I trimmed it to length, and it is 34 inches long. So if you remember how long those wires were originally, just use that length minus 34 inches. I can also tell you that the length of PVC jacketing was perfect. It got the two wires up through the firewall, and had about 12 extra inches of length before the wires were exposed from the PVC near the kick panel. The challenge, in my opinion, would be pulling the "plug" for your solution through the firewall boot instead of the wires themselves, so you'd probably have to use a long length with a shorter section that would be attached inside the cab (with heat shrink butt connectors or something), and it could get a little tight trying to deal with mating the two pieces under the dash (using a heat gun under there pointed towards all those other wires doesn't sound like a great idea to me). I suppose you could also crimp the pins and have the end user insert them into the plug once everything is pulled through the firewall, but that could leave a risk of damaging the pins in the process.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already but @MESO , I think it would make installation much easier to simply make one of the two wire runs included about 5’ longer.

The way they come, equal length, isn’t enough to run the one from the passenger side, cleanly through the door, behind the lower dash, then out the grommet and then out to the driver side headlight where the plug and play adapter goes onto the DRL connection.

This means having to cut the driver side wire and T patch the passenger side one onto it. I did this in the kick panel area so it’s protected there. Not the end of the world, just an extra splice and solder vs having both sides long enough to terminate all the way at the plug and play harness.

Another slightly more expensive alternative would be to keep them equal length but put a mid-line female T connector on the one and a male on the end of the other, so people can patch it in plug and play.

I can confirm that I was able to get rid of hyper flash on my ‘20 w/ factory LEDs and v5s connected with a t harness once I removed the stage 1 tails and went back to bulbs. I didn’t try it with resisters l because as previously mentioned I have the new tails on pre order. Kinda bummed to be back in the stock taillight game, I guess there are just too many variables on trucks to know when you’ll need the resistor vs not. And for the record I never had hyper flash with the stock side markers and stage 1 tails, never tried with the v4s

I have the oem led headlights and tt1 and I inspected it many times, I don't get any hyper flashing.

sounds like it’s 50/50. Probably just needs resistor but I’ll wait for the new tails before I buy it

I converted from halogen headlights to OEM LED headlights a few weeks ago, and had no hyperflash at that time (w/ total tail stage 1 and V4 mirror turn signals). Swapped out the mirrors to V5s on Friday, and now I have the hyperflash 100% of the time on the right signal, and the left signal will start hyperflashing after about 15 to 18 flashes at normal speed.

I already ordered the resistors last week, and they should hopefully be here tomorrow. I figured I'd get them in the mail in case I ended up needing them, and could always resell them if I didn't. Plus, I didn't want them to sell out if a bunch of people were experiencing this issue. I'll provide an update once they arrive and I get them installed, just to confirm that they were able to resolve the issue.

I’m planning on getting these when all the qc checks are done and they are back on line but am curious about something, though I might have missed it. I’ve got the halogen headlights right now, so I’ll grab the pnp harness. I’m the future I’m planning on led headlights, either OEM, MM or Alpharex(only if a really good deal). Is it possible to daisy chain the pnp harness with whatever I get for the LED headlights to work? Either one by @daveeasa or whichever brand headlight I go with.

I have the exact same problem to a T, let me know if the resistors work I was hesitant on ordering, to see if anyone else was having the exact same problem

Yes, it's possible. You'll need the DRL plug and play harness for halogen headlights, as your truck is wired for halogen headlights from the factory. If you run the DRL PnP harness that is available with the V5s, it would just remain inline with your LED conversion harness when you eventually convert to LED headlights. It'll start to get a little bulky with multiple plug and play harnesses connected together, but it's not an issue at all (there's plenty of room between the battery and driver side headlight for all of those harnesses to live).

In fact, I believe the Alpharex and Morimoto headlights don't even use an LED conversion harness (I think they just have all of the same factory plugs as the halogen headlights), so this is really only a question for converting to the OEM LED headlights.

The control (terminal) to the DRL is present in your model. No need for the harness or exiting the cab to add the DRL feature to the V5's.

Thanks, I’ll have to reread the instructions and all, I missed that. I thought there were written instructions but I guess it’s just the video.
Found the instructions, overlooked them on the install tab on Meso’s page.

Alright guys. After some trouble shooting with some extra fuses, I determined that the V5 being plugged in to the puddles is causing the fuses to burn out. After I unplugged the V5 from the puddles and replaced the fuse, the interior lights are fine.

Knowing this, what could be the problem? Do I maybe have the red and white wires crossed incorrectly with the puddle pod adapter?

Resistors arrived today. Took all of 10 minutes to install both sides, which included waiting for the spot that I wiped off to dry where I stuck the resistors. They just connect in line with the existing reverse/turn connector on the total tails harness.

Best news is, they fixed the hyper flashing DSC_1853.jpg DSC_1855.jpg DSC_1860.jpg

Can you take a look the A PILLAR T harness? My very first versions didn’t have the illumination tap. But I changed it right after to incorporate that. The easy way to tell is if there are black wires(1st version)or colored wires(current) coming off. That’s my only thought as why it’s not working. Here’s a pic for reference
