I'm basically forced into an Ikon or Epic, because I'm in southern california. those are the only passes that make sense for me...

I originally wasn't going to get a pass this season because we just had our first kid, and I went back to school, but my wife is now back on the "lets go skiing and get a pass" train.

Having a pass just makes to much sense. Yes, a expensive lay out of $ up front, but with passes even at small mountains being $100+ it pays off very fast.

I ski belleayre in NY the most. My holiday blackout pass cost me $370 over 4 months. A daily pass there is right about $100. So 4 days and I'm skiing free. I spend nearly every day off there, and quite often I'll run up to the mtn before work if I'm off the morning or after if I get off early. Would never consider that if I had to hand over money.
I ski way more days then if I had to pay daily. I couldn't count the # of times I've woken up to crappy weather, but decided to give it a shot anyways since it only cost me gas money. These have honestly been some of my best days as the mtn is 2200' above my house and most people see rain at home and assume rain everywhere. I wouldn't risk these days if I had to pay.

yea for me this season though I originally didn't think I'd be going enough to make it worth it. so I was going to forego skiing altogether this season (it would be the first season I havent gone skiing in about 15 years). The added cost of the lodging to go to mammoth and/or tahoe made the equation lean towards not getting a pass. Having a kid and quitting work to go back to school has made funds fairly tight...

I've been a pass holder at Stevens Pass since about 07-08. Prices crept up to $6-700+ and then jumped to $8-900 when Vail took over (EPIC pass)

But just last week I paid $640 for this coming season. Methinks they're worried about lost customers after the shit show last year.

Before the kid showed up in 2018 I'd go 25+ days riding chairs. Now I try for a minimum of 15-20. That's a combination of day and night skiing

Usually make it out on the splitboard 5-10 times, especially when the weather gets nice in the spring

Looking forward to this season. I love just strapping in, everything is forgotten and remembered

they've been worried about losing customers for several seasons now, they've been a mess lately. have you seen the IG account, @epicliftlines?

living in LA, if i want to ski any decent mountain, I have to drive at least 5 hours. which makes it very expensive, between gas and lodging. in the past I've gone 15-20 days per season on average.

Dang yea 5 hours is like a whistler trip from Seattle. I've got Baker at 2.5 hours, Stevens and Crystal both under 2 hours. Alpental and Snoqualmie 1 hour flat. Seattle is expensive af but the proximity to mtns and evergreens is nice

Never skied in Utah but the Wasatch resorts are like 45 mins from SLC

I've seen those IG clips, I'm in line there somewhere lol

I have Big Bear about 1.5 hours from me, but its a pretty small mountain, and definitely overcrowded on weekends. Sometimes its worth going during the week, which I might be able to do this season.

I really wish I lived somewhere like Seattle or SLC for that reason. having more of a choice would be nice.

Tahoe on the EPIC pass is great for heavenly, northstar, and kirkwood.

Not advanced enough to ride squaw. Also have a knee issue that’s not getting fixed till I get it replaced so pain tolerance determines what I can and can’t do. Fingers crossed this season is a go for me. I can make it any day but Monday Wednesday when I have classes. Quick 45 mins over to Tahoe. Just long enough to drink a coffee and wake up on the drive over.

just can’t beat that. That was very end of last season. 470$ for Tahoe local college pass. 7 blackout holidays. Unlimited aside from that at the 3 Tahoe mountains, and 5 days at the other epic mountains

Went to Squaw for the first time this season, and totally get why so many legends come out of there. Place is gnarly, and right under the lift. Was the day of Pain McShlonkey, apres was a scene

160' of vertical. Unfortunately, twisted my knee getting steezy in the terrain park and it doesn't feel great. Got a few months for it to get better...
