We knocked the dust off the old skis with a Saturday afternoon warmup. Then hit Winterpark and A Basin Sunday. Camped in G lot of Winter park. Discovered at 6PM i had no propane. No worries, fun was had . Official IKON pass total this season 3 days.

At 47, I still get that kid excitement from skiing at night. And the view from the lift is amazing.

I just wish Colorado had a mountain like Snoqualmie in WA. Multiple night lifts Multiple runs. I appreciate the three runs steamboat keeps open at night. But it's nothing like snoqualmie.

Go go gadget ceramic propane heater. We hit -3 last night.

Bruh, Snoqualmie is at 3,200 ft elevation and barely has enough snow to open :anonymous:

Its raining up there as we speak. We are waaaay behind in snowfall this season. I'm still on early season beater equipment because I don't want to damage my good stuff. Nothing in the forecast either, just drizzle and warm temps. Trying to be optimistic but it's been pretty bad so far. There's literally creeks running next to the ski runs at Stevens Pass. You can hear water flowing and see bare earth. :(

But, on a lighter note.. We've been having fun. I had a nice bluebird Tues with some friends and the park is slowly coming together. Chucked a nice backside 180 over a small tabletop right under the chair that felt pretty good

If you ever find yourself in Big Cottonwood the night skiing at Brighton is pretty good. 4 lifts and ~22 runs, highly recommended.

I've been listening to The Bomb-hole podcast with E. Stone and Chris Grenier. They're based in SLC and always talk about Snowbird and Brighton. Lots of history at those resorts. Makes me want to take a trip out there

If you've never been you need to go at least once, The Cottonwood resorts are worth the hype. Snowbird is my favorite (but I'm slightly biased as I worked there for 2 seasons) but don't sleep on Brighton or Solitude. Tons of great skiing/riding and each one has their own vibe.

Purgatory outside of Durango, CO. They had a late March dump in '21 that I was lucky enough to ski for 2 days.

Hit Bear Valley a couple of days ago.

Pros: great to be back on the board and the snow. Got a half dozen laps, just enough to get the burn in the legs going. The sun was shining.

Cons: limited coverage, limited runs, longish lift lines at times, and crowded runs. The blacks weren't crowded thought, maybe it was the ice and moguls with the trees and bushes sticking through the snow that was keeping the Tesla driving bros on the blues.

Overall a good day. We need some snow!!!

    $12 dollar beer!

Somehow today we managed to get the opening of Spaulding bowl at Copper Mt. It looks better then it was. The rocks were just under the top layer. So it was like skiing through a double black mine field.

Super low tide in MT, waiting and wishing for the low pressure to come in and drop some significant snow. Hit Targhee over NYE and had decent skiing, still kind of scratchy. Almost felt like spring skiing.

Anyone in the region interested in some new skis? I have two sets I’m trying to move, Head Kore 105s in 177cm and Voile Hyperdrifters in 178cm. Both are mounted with pin-style touring bindings. Both are in great shape, just need to thin the quiver.

Seeing all the lower 48 resorts hurting so bad for snow makes me wish we could send some of ours down there! At the house here we're already over our average annual snowfall for the winter and the resort is sitting just a hair under 400" so far. The wife and I skipped out on work yesterday and had a great day on the mountain, roughly 20" of snow in the last two days and zero lift lines :bananadance:

Glad to see you guys are getting some snow. I'll be in Anchorage second week of March for a work trip but will hopefully have a couple of free days to hit the mountains.

That’s a great time to ski up here, none of the snow has started to melt and the sun has come back so the days are as long as your legs can last. If it keeps up like it has so far I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re up over 700” by that time.
