Here is a sample set I recently fixed up swapping cushions from the best of parts I had on hand and a good cleaning. These are 2001-2004 standard bucket seats in "charcoal" or gray.

Those look really nice, good job! The head rest on the driver's side on my 01 feels like it's come off of the bar in the center of it...you can see it on the back side. Not sure how to correct that.

    Thanks!

I have seen your headrest issue on some of mine and think I know the cause, yet have not fixed this issue to date other than to find nicer head rests! The head rest molded foam cushion rips where it normally surrounds the U shaped headrest bar. This causes the cushion to move all around very easily and not sit in the proper location since nothing holds it in place any longer.

To see your issue it's easy to pinch the headrest cover together with your fingers under the center to release the plastic hook snaps that hold it on. Then roll the cover out and upwards removing it enough until you can see the issue or remove completely as needed for repairs. You may be able to spray glue/tape the foam back together around the bar as a repair depending on how bad your foam is.

That's not a bad idea, I'll have to take it apart and see how bad it is. Definitely worth a shot.

Going to resurrect this thread, hopefully @2Runner or someone else can chime in.

I finally found a set of the Tacoma limited sport seats, been waiting years for a local set. They are in pretty good shape with one exception. The passenger seat back will not fold up or recline. It seems like the outboard side mechanism is working, but the inboard one does not move when I pull up the lever.

Does anyone know how the inboard and outboard recliner mechanisms are attached together?

Could be that rod and/or cable that runs from one side to the other is missing, bent, or not setup properly..

You do need to align the tracks side to side as you install the seats as well for proper function. They will separate if adjustments are used when the seats are not installed in the truck.

You can swap tracks from regular buckets seats if your tracks are the issue, since everyone seems to have the Limited Sport buckets nowadays!

Hope this helps, you will love them seats and I am certain they are repairable.

    Thanks for the response @2Runner!

I'll verify that the tracks are aligned, could have got moved while I was swapping over the seat covers. Do you know if the bent or broken rod is inside the seat upholstery or is that something easily accessible?

Going from memory I am thinking the rod that runs between the two seat back mounting points. It needs to be correctly aligned/installed for it all to work, and of course the back rest should be mounted in properly, etc. If anything is bent it will impede movement, so look for damage if the seats are from a wreck.

Basically pull it apart until you find the part that is not working when you pull the lever! Easy to fix in person.. hard to tell someone how to fix it online, apologies!

No worries, I'll have to take it apart and see what's going on. Thanks again for your quick responses!

This is the rod below I would check out, again it may be related to something else of course.

It is easy to get to you just snap apart the upholstery from the bottom to reveal it. It gets removed/installed when you unbolt the seat tracks from the cushions and aligning some tabs as seen earlier in the thread.

@2Runner did you ever figure out how to source power for the lumbar?

I scored a set of the limited/sport seats.

I'm wondering if it's part of the harness already in the non-limited double cabs?

    Congratz on the seat find!

I never figured out or hooked up the lumbar since I run no lumbar, but it sure would be nice to have it working. When mine was pulled from the SRunner it came from the same harness hole underneath the drivers seat as the seat belt sensor I believe, it's been a while.

Please let me know if you get it going and how!
