I have Scan Gauge II for my 01 DCSB (3.4L, auto). Works super awesome for all my telemetry needs, although I do wish it had the transmission temp option (silly Toyota...)

So if the Ultra gauge doesn't read the transmission temp and that's one of the main things I'm interested in plus everything else. I'll have to get a Scan gauge instead right? I know Scan gauges are more expensive that the Ultra gauge but it's worth it if you want to have the transmission temp.

It's not supported in the first gen Taco, only a warning light.

Thank you all for your answers. I'm going with the MX 1.3. How do you all have them mounted?

You can get an x-code to put into your scanguage to get it to pull trans temp. It would pull the temp on my 99 Prerunner. My 99 4wd doesn't use a sensor, but your 2001 should use a sensor. I can find the code if you need it

Sure, that'd be great. It's worth a shot to see if it'll work!

I think mine is the scanguage 2 or something....there is a code you have to input to make it work.....been years since I did it...should be in the instructions
