I've had mine for about 7 months now and I couldn't imagine any possible situation where a screen protector could come in handy for this. The screen isn't really scratchable or glass or anything. I don't think a screen protector would help prevent anything on this. But I suppose of you really feel inclined to make one then it can't hurt.

Got mine, gotta say though, the 3m tape on the surface mount is worthless. Won't stick to anything, and yes I cleaned the surface first. Trying to find an alternative. Any ideas?

Hmm, I don't know... Honestly 3M tape is usually what I always use for these types of applications.

Having been an installer for several years, I can share some wisdom with using that surface mount.

Step 1: Find a "flat" surface (the textured dash will not work!). Clean the surface vigorously with an alcohol prep pad.

Step 2: use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat the 3m tape until it starts to get tacky or bubble slightly. Be careful not to melt the plastic but heat the tape a lot. Quickly heat the mounting surface a little to make it warm to the touch. Again be careful not to melt the surface, just make it hot. DO NOT touch the mounting surface with anything, especially your finger, after you cleaned it with the prep pad. Touching it even slightly will get oils on it and make the tape not stick.

Step 3: quickly press the mount to the surface while everything is still hot and the tape is bubbling or gooey. Press firmly and apply pressure for at least 30 seconds to a minute. Let tape and surface cool for a minute or 2 before wiggling it around.

Following these instructions will make your tape stick for at least 1-2 years without issue. Note that once you heat the tape and attempt to stick it, that's your 1 and only chance. If it doesn't stick the first time or you pick a bad surface, its too late and you will have to replace the 3M tape. You don't get a second Chance with it so make your first try count.

If you followed these directions and it doesn't stick very good or falls off with little pressure then you didn't do it right or you picked a bad mounting surface. Throw away the tape and try again.

Good luck and hope this helps someone out.

See my pics a few pages back. You can stick it behind the rear view mirror and bend the mount to have the guage right above your mirror. That way its easy to see and get to but you can't see the suction cup and it still looks clean

Wire gets shoved up inside the headliner, run towards that driver side A-Pillar, down the pillar, behind edge of dash and plugs into OBD. If you don't have curtain air bags you can pull the weather stripping and shove the wire behind the pillar and dash. If you do have curtain air bags, you need to remove the pillar (two 10mm bolts on the handle) and neatly secure the wire in a way which won't interfere with deployment of air bag. So obviously don't zip tie it to the air bag or wrap it around it lol

Got mine yesterday! It was a nice surprise considering the tracking said it was going to arrive Tuesday.
