After setting up all my gauges the way I want them, I am shocked and dismayed that there is no Oil Pressure and no Oil Temperature gauge available. WTF:confused:

They are not even listed in the official UltraGauge User Manual "Table 1 - Potential Available Gauges" chart, so this is not Tacoma specific.

Anybody have any idea why UltraGauge does not include them?

Here is a number you can call to talk to Ryan at Jasper Offroad: 603-969-4484. Maybe he can help.

Just hooked up my ultragauge. I took a 4 hour drive just to test it out. It's the best money I've spent in a long time. Can't wait to learn all of the features.

Thanks ProForm. Erm, I meant ProForce.

Does anyone know if we have to go directly through Ultragauge to get surface mount or are we able to go through Jasper? I am not happy with the window mount either and this looks like a excellent option especially to keep the unit out of the sun.

I will ask Ryan if he can order the mounts, but since they are the same price through both vendors it may be easier and more cost effective for everyone to just order directly from Ultragauge.

Your gauge might be broken. Can you really get 600+ miles per tank? Very clean install, though. I'm buying my father one at retail and risking the rebate just so we can do your same setup. He's a 2.7 Litre 68 year old that drives like an 88 year old woman. Maybe he'll have Prius-style MPGs.
Very badassed that you can just bump the corners to change settings with this setup/install.

Holy crap! I went on UG site to order a surface mount by itself and a replacement bracket clip because they are fragile and mine is already breaking... total came to $9.35 which is a pretty good deal. Then I entered my shipping address and they want an additional $8.51 for shipping! Trippin!!!

@ 30.4 MPG... YES. Notice its still 20 gallons in the tank which is almost topped off. if the tank is full and his average is 31 mpg then yeah its correct. Once the mpg drops and evens out the DTE will adjust.

He had it for maybe a day in that picture. It takes time for it to calibrate ;)

Yeah, that was why I was maybe hoping that Jasper was able to supply them. I did the same thing and the shipping was as much as the new bracket. The thing that pisses me off is that I was on the fence between that mount or the windshield mount and now wished I went with that mount. Oh well...

I do like where I have it mounted on my dash now but I am thinking heat will be an issue and would be nice to have it hidden.

Believe it or not, I consistently get 27 to 29 MPG doing about 10% to 15% city driving and the balance at 65-70 MPH driving on the highway.

Yes, the 2.7L can regularly achieve 550-600+ miles per tank full.:D

So my UG over heated twice today and gave me a warning alarm. It was due to the heat in my vehicle. When I went on my lunch break at 12:30, my UG alarmed me that it was "overheating". It also gave me another alarm when I got in my truck to go home at 4pm. My truck is never in the shade but I have EGR weather visors so my windows are cracked and I have a windshield shade. Hope the heat doesn't make the unit crap out but I'm sure they must have tested this. Anyone else have their UG units set of this alarm? Where is your unit mounted?

This?? Happens all the time to me. It first happened about 2 months ago and has happened at least 8-10 times since then. Every day over 90° outside that my truck sits out for a few hours this happens. Usually reads somewhere around 150-160° F. Cools of quick, but then my screen looks faded for like an hour until it really cools off then it goes back to normal. For reference, it is mounted just above the rear view mirror in the shade. You can turn the alarm off if it bugs you. You can also raise the alarm value above the preset 145° I think. The truth is, if its that hot then so is the radio, dash, ecm, and everything else electronic inside the car. None of those things die out so I think the alarm is just programmed extremely low to be cautious. I don't think that 145° its actually its danger limits. But who know I could be wrong. The way I see it, I've saved more in gas the last 6months from adjusting my driving habits based on real time mpg readings that it has already paid for itself. Even if it only lasts me 2 years, it was well worth it. Sucks that it isn't build better, but consider that its half the price of the scan gauge. You get what you pay for. It functions well, looks good, user friendly (kinda) and does its job so I'll live with it.

I got the "verticle surface mount" when I ordered mine and I am not sure I am going to use it yet. If I don't, I'd be happy to sell it for what is cost me + actual shipping.

I plan to hook it all up and mount it by this weekend so I should know by then if I am going to keep it (the bracket, not the Ultraguage) or not.

Anyone else use polarized sunglasses and notice that the screen is blank when viewed through them? That stinks. If I tilt the display a bit at 30-45 degrees I can see it though...

Very true about the other electronics in the vehicle, I just got paranoid when reading the UG user manual. It states multiple times that excessive heat is not covered under warranty and that they recommend taking out the device every time it is hot.

I have multiple polarized glasses and do not have this issue, could just be the angle it sits for me since its on my windshield upper corner.

Hmmm.... I wonder if 110* summer heat will cause issues

I really don't want to have to take this thing in and out all the time. Anyone in AZ use one and any issues? I will be mounting it out of direct sunlight but it will get hot in the car.
