Ultra-Gauge Group Buy INTEREST

From their initial response it sounds like no. They stated thy have never had it happened to them, but have had some curious, as they put it, customers affected by it. But, then again, if you know the problem exists you probably use a small pry tool to remove the cover to prevent damage instead of a big fat thumb like I did. In my opinion they need a warning sticker over it that states warranty void if removed. Otherwise, as it is, anyone that likes to tinker will see it and wonder what is under there. If I can get the part number of the part I will fix it myself.

I am OK with it not working. It is really only there to dim the screen in extreme heat.

Yeah...other than this one issue, I think the device is great. I think it will be a great asset and help with getting my MPGs higher.

 

Is your truck lifted with big wheels? Mine is. I was pretty excited that I could average over 15.

 

I used the suction cup mount, and put mine above the mirror. Not sure I'll keep that mount, but it will work for now. It's all pretty clean with the wire up the post and under the headliner.

Hey Guys, here is a quick setup guide I used for setting up my UltraGauge.
It shows how to go to settings and assign the gauges to each page.
It also shows the setting gauge name and the actual gauge displayed name. Plus the page scan delay time I used per page.

So I sent mine back because it didn't turn on on 3 vehicles. Ultra gauge said it powered right up when they got it back. Am I doing it wrong? Isn't it just plug and play when the truck is on 'run'?

 

Step four of the instructions say to set the ignition to the RUN Position (don't start), and plug the cable into the OBD-II port. Are you sure it was plugged all the way in?

 

Im pretty sure I mashed it in there, enough for it to click into place. Ill try it again when I get it back

 

My memory is I got a little "click" when I inserted the cable into the OBDII port.

 

yeah there is a little piece in the connection that will catch when it is all the way in. I think you are doing right, but you do have to turn your car to run, plug the gauge in, and give it a few seconds to search. I have noticed that since i've had mine set up, there are some times when it will not get connection when my car is not started, just in "run" or "on" as it says on my truck. but it will always start up when i start the truck.

 

Alright thanks guys. They shipped it back today so I should get it within the next few days. I must've not clicked it in all the way somehow because I plugged it in and had it plugged in for a 230 mile trip and it never came on. So I shall see shortly!

For those that purchased the EM v1.2 and are interested in transmission temp, you can return the unit to UltraGauge and have it upgraded to MX 1.3. The cost is $15 plus shipping. I upgraded my EM v1.2 and can now display the transmission temp.
