2002 Tacoma Double cab

Anyone have one of these in there first gens? Im looking into getting one just wanted to get some opinions on it and can the newer version UG mx 1.3 read tranny temp on a first gen? I have the light and sensor all ready wired into my truck dash stock so Im guessing it has all it needs to read it but will it?
