    Resurrecting an old thread.

I just filled up with my Ultragauge and I'm about 1.5 mpg off. The gauge said my average was 18.8 and when I check miles on the ODO divided by gallons pumped I got 17.2!

I drove 10 miles a few months ago to calibrate the odometer on the UG. It was +0.005 miles. My tires are slightly taller than stock but not by much. I've seen people mention calibrating fuel usage but I don't recall seeing it in the manual. Anyone have more specifics?

*EDIT* found the calibration method in the above link.

If you haven't done it, test your gauge's odometer function error by driving and comparing at least 25 miles (by mile marker or GPS) to get the % to adjust your gauge. Might want to do it every 10,000 miles to compensate for tire wear.

I did that a few hundred miles ago. I stop on the shoulder of the highway at a milemarker and hit "zero" then drove 10 mile and stopped again. The ultragauge said I went something like 9.995 miles. I punched in 10.000. I'll have to double check it tho, I had the battery disconnected a few times. The instructions say the calibration should not be lost but who knows, stranger things have happened.
