So I am thinking about a ultra guage. What mounting bracket are you using to mount them above the rear view mirror. What another places are good to mount it?

I used the bracket that came with it and mounted it here as pictured. I can still get at the button at the back to reset at fuel fills.

I like that. I may just choose the windshield bracket then.

I have mine mounted at the very top left of the windshield using the provided mount. I ran the wire down the A-pillar, inside of the plastic interior pieces so it's hidden, to the OBDII plug. I used an OBDII splitter so that I still have access to the OBDII plug without having to disconnect the Ultra Gauge.

It works well for me, but I'm 6'1"-6'2" (i.e. the rearview mirror is literally directly in my line of sight in my normal seating position)--I'm actually planning on modifying the mount to angle it up more.

Have you seen the mirror riser brackets? I have the bird dog industries one (can't remember the name of the other one) with the extra ram ball mount and am very happy with it, you just have to add a little extra 3m trim adhesive so off-roading vibration doesn't rip the cleat out of the glass.

I have! I haven't yet justified spending $40-50 just to make my mirror a little higher.. but I've definitely been toying with the idea of getting one for a while now. I'm planning on trying on rigging something up myself.. and when that fails, I'll probably buy one lol.

    Thanks for the input.

None. I bought Velcro and it sits on top of the steering column, I then fed the wire along the outside of the kick panel. Not the cleanest look per se but I don't want to lose the easy removeability if I need to scan someone's computer. I'd try that first and if you like it, then it's the cheapest method.

@ImMrYo made a mirror bracket, not sure if still in production but they are sold on here periodically by members and I don't think they cost $40. I'm very happy with mine..if you don't see one for sale post up a WTB for it and see what happens

Totally worth it IMHO! I'm only 5' 9" but it made a huge difference in visibility for me. Why Toyota decided to stick the mirror in the middle of the windscreen I'll never know.

I wish I could flatten the rake of the seat like the rear seat risers do (also a worth while mod even if you just stack thick fender washers like I did) but at the same time lower the seat height at the same time.

I don't know how anyone 6'+ can stand to be in this truck.

I have the windshield mount that comes with it. IMHO, it makes for a clean install because you can hide the cable along the pillar and headliner and the gauge fits nicely above the rearview mirror.

Mines mounted to my mirror bracket via a modified bicycle handlebar reflector bracket. It's positioned above the mirror. I'm 5'7, so no need for a riser. It's out of the way, doesn't obstruct my view, and isn't visible from outside the vehicle.

@LancerRevo I had the digital temp/compass in the overhead console instead of the garage door opener.

I didnt mind losing the digital temp/compass spot since my Gentex mirror displays the compass and temp is obtained through android auto (headunit).

Interesting... I already sent Ben a message to look into all this. I almost want to say it should be the same mount since you had the temp gauge. So I would just need minor adjusting for the switch panel hole. I know some others have 2 sunglass holders, and I think those will be different sizes

I mounted mine using a mount from target , scosche brand. Sticks fairly well for a suction cup mount and fits above the rear view mirror

I have one I'll sell. It's the 1.3 but I don't have the mount. I used the A Pillar Ram Mount. I've had it for like 6 months. I got a OBDII bluetooth app for my android head unit.
