My upstream 02 sensor needs replaced. Advance Auto's cheapest option is $180, so I went over to rockauto.com.

They have Bosch and Walker sensors for ~$150, but Ultra-Power brand ones for 60 bucks! Have to ask just because of the 'yuge price discrepancy, any reason I shouldn't just get the $60 sensor?

Denso or OEM Toyota (made by Denso) only, that is the reason and only one you should get

I don’t think anyone on here has ever reported success with anything other than DENSO or OEM.

But is it really worth 3x the price? Do I get 3x the life out of them, or what?

You get the sensor that was used in the design of the system. You may get a year or two out of a Bosch or other no name part or a month or two.

non oem O2 sensors have the tendancy to not operate within the parameters that the system was designed for and might trip a CEL. Generally, if you install a part it is yours and if it does not work properly now you get to buy a second O2 sensor that will work.

I'll bet there's a hundred thousand tacomas out there running these chinese o2 sensors. They're probably fine. They might not be. I know a Denso it going to work.

Denso sensors is the brand Toyota built these trucks around, the ECU is programmed to the sensor's exact parameters. When you throw an aftermarket sensor into the mix, you're taking a shot in the dark as to whether or not it's going to meet those exact specs. Might not throw a code right away but chances are it won't last nearly as long as it should.

Toyotas are well-known to not play well with aftermarket sensors, just the way it is. Buy once cry once

If your going off brand Sensor just save your money leave the old one in the same end results .

Once I got the exhaust system sorted out I have close to 150,000 miles on my Denso Sensors

    I get mine a Napa
