Hey guys, I've got a 2019 toyota tacoma trd pro I just purchased. It's giving me a pre collision system malfunction dashboard warning so I obd2 scanned it and the scanner is telling me there is no communication with the blind spot monitor slave unit. I'm trying to fix this without taking it to the dealer so as I was looking around the truck I noticed a plug that wasn't plugged into anything, inside the truck at drivers foot firewall loctation near all the other wiring harness plugs. Is this normally like this? Or can anyone identify the plug.I'v attached to pics. TIA

Good catch! I was just trying to doctor a screenshot too.
It definitely looks like some F’ery has taken place. OP I’d double check anything that was molested or modified from the factory.

That probably also went to the trailer brake controller. Whoever uninstalled it did the world's laziest job at it.

I cringe when I see used vehicles with trailer brake controllers added. I know not everyone does, but over the years I have had numerous friends that buy new, beat the ever living fork out of a truck for 1-3 years and trade it off and repeat. Some say "oh it's fine, it can handle it" and some say "not my problem; it'll be someone else's in another few months, I won't even put tires or brakes on it"

The other half is a pigtail harness that you connect to an aftermarket trailer brake controller. The plug under the dash remains loose unless you add a controller.

Just put a P2 into a family Tacoma this morning, I’m guessing someone pulled a controller off that truck and clipped the ground..

Ok, so back to the pre collision system malfunction warning. My scanner is telling me the system has lost communication with the blind spot monitor slave unit. I just purchased this truck from an auction, it was wrecked and the rear bumper is definetly tweaked (crooked) could this be the problem? The postion of the blind spot monitors due to the mis allignment of the bumper?
