First off your truck looks awesome !! Second please forgive me for what some will call a stupid question but after I put this same lift (including the LR UCA's) on my truck, can I give my alignment guy those same numbers and end up with the extra clearance like you did ?

 

Thanks! You should be able to; just as long as you setup the upper ball joint as I did.

My choosing the LB was two-fold. First I prefer how it looks. And second, I knew I needed the space. I'm able to leave the bed box in and still have room for lots o stuff. Even the long bed seems tiny to me - I just came from a full size extended cab 3/4ton GMC 4x4. So, to me, the Tacoma maneuvers like a Corolla compared to the GMC. Haha.

I have no regrets. I'm really happy with the dclb configuration. Wheelbase isn't too long for me and it has lots of cargo room.

 

I'm in the same boat uncleArt. I find my truck so nimble. After coming from several full size quad cabs this thing feels like a 2 door coupe! And no question on looks, LB just looks so much better and proportional.

Setty7, I was just being obnoxious on an ongoing feud between the LB and SB. You asked uncleArt so I wanted to let him answer first. Having an LB myself I couldn't imagine having a bed any smaller. I ride Mt bike and ski and those don't fit in a SB with the gate up. And I do prefer the looks better as well. Guys say you can't wheel a LB... Look through some builds and you will find some of the hardest off roaders in the LB!

uncleArt, what were you getting for MPG's before you're lift and wheels? Just curious if its you're terrain where you drive or if it's from the tires. I'm averaging 20.5 with mine.

 

I was getting 17-18mpg with the stock tires. (Lift didn't affect anything). When I put on the 33" Duratracs, it dropped down to 15-16mpg.

 

awesome guys! can you post some side shots of your truck? Im leaning more towards the long bed. does it affect towing vs sb at all? probably not!

No difference in towing. What I like is how the cab and bed are similar lengths. This is what brings things into proportion for me.

LOLs. DeBadging makes any vehicle look better; especially a Tacoma!

 

It does make a little bit of difference... Only like 200 lbs I think.. Wouldn't make or break you're decision I wouldn't think.

I don't like the chrome but I think it's sick when the badges match the truck. So they just blend in.

Looking into lateraling to Seattle PD! My wife and I would love to move out there. I have always like WA and thought Seattle was a cool city! Skied at Baker while I was out there and then drove up to BC! Love the NW Coast! Wouldn't be for a little bit until I take the test and go through processing (assuming I get hired) What are some cool towns/areas to live? Would have to be within 40 miles of the City. I was on Zillow and checking out some different areas and home prices. Expensive to live but found a lot of fixer-uppers that I could make some extra cash on the side!

 

Don't blame you for wanting to leave NY. I'm kinda stuck here or I would have bailed a while ago.
