    Thanks Mark! I have more that I want to do. Have a pile of skids and sliders in the garage. And most of what I need for a dual battery setup. New bumpers & winch are on the horizon as well. I also need to get organized in the canopy. I want to do some camping with it next spring/summer.

    :eek: thats a whole lot of armor. I know it affects the 1st Gens power/torque quite a bit to throw a bumper, canopy, winch, skids, and sliders on... you think its gonna be the same for the 2nd Gens?

    I wouldn't be surprised if it did a little. The new V6s are pretty impressive though. But this brings up another thing, re-gearing the Diffs.

    They're 285/70-17. "33s" - well almost - 32.8". In that pic, I still have my 1" Bora spacers; so that the 285s clear the UCAs. I also adjusted the upper ball joints forward - moving wheel center forward about 1.25". This keeps the tires out of the cab mount - even at full lock/stuff.

    Got new tires today. BFG TA KO2s. 265/70-17 LR "C". Yes I down-sized a little.

    I put them on some brand new FJ Steelies that I had laying around for a year and a half. (I thought the 285s would fit, but they were too close to the UCA). The steel wheels are 17"x7.5", with a 4.84" back space.

    Also, I reinstalled the mud flaps after cutting 4" off of the fronts.

    I love the look; the speedo will be more accurate and the transmission won't drop out of overdrive so quick on the freeway.

    Do you get a lot of snow where you are? I am just wondering how 285s will do in the snow, main reason I went 265 originally. I was always taught skinnier is better in snow but I’m wondering how bad it would be compared to my 265s.
