It is legal in Florida to carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol, just not into the bar specific area of it. For example, eating at an Applebee's booth and drinking a beer while carrying concealed is 100% legal, sitting at the bar and drinking a beer while carrying concealed is illegal.

In Texas, it gets weird if the establishment receives 50%+ revenue from alcohol.

No one is all knowing, but I've been shooting since the early 1970s and am a NRA firearms instructor, so I know a bit.

Well unfortunately due to my age I've only been shooting since the mid 90's, I've got a CCW I don't use, and I handle ATF compliance for a gun store.

Not trying to make this a dick measuring thing. Just trying to point out that none of us know who is on the other side of the screen so maybe we shouldn't rush to be dismissive off of one comment.

if your firearm is not a 'lockbox' when you don't need it you are leaving it unsecure and doing the criminal and anti-gun folks a favor

Some of the worst information I've ever heard has come from people who work for FFLs. Often, it's an effort to convince a potential customer to buy something that they shop has in stock, but is different than one the person wants. Other times, it's just BS that the staff makes up on the fly.

Texas will accept many other states permits even if that state doesn't accept a Texas license. CA and MA are good examples.

On Sept. 1 it will become a moot point as Texas will no longer require a license to carry a firearm open or concealed.

I don't recall saying I work the sales floor. But by all means continue to make assumptions based on anecdotal experiences and push those onto me.

I'll just stop now and go back to the OP, as it's become apparent we've entered the beat a puppy with a stick phase.

OP, the combination of an under seat lock box with seat jackers (I used QuikFix rear seat jackers) should give you enough room under either seat. On my Tacoma it's under the drivers seat as I have radio equipment under the passenger seat. In my wife's 2007 Highlander, I don't use seat jackers, but have a smaller lock box under the passenger seat. That's because her car has a power driver seat and I don't want to damage those components.

If your state has firearms storage laws be sure to make sure that you comply with them. MA has one law for transport in a motor vehicle and one for storage in a motor vehicle. Looking a gun in a globe box or center console does not meet the requirements for "lockable" storage. Other states of course will have different requirements.

Maybe, although it looks like glovebox could be opened with minimal effort whereas my console safe is going to require some effort/power tools.

I guess it just comes-down to what level of security you’re comfortable with. And with how much crap your GF in your truck LOL

Those console vaults are much different than just a console. I'd probably use one except I have too much junk in mine as it is. Plus, I'm not sure it would meet the requirements of FOPA for when I travel down south. It might be just a bit to close to easily reachable for comfort. I like the south, but I don't think I'd like breaking rocks in the hot sun.
