    Hmmm...
I purchased one of these (bottom link) to mount on the back of the cab of the 07 Regular Cab we just picked up.
I’m mounting it to a piece of black powder coated .125” 6061 aluminum that’s bolted nice and tight to the brace that runs across the back of the cab. I covered the back of the cab in Noico 80mil sound deadening mat, then carpeted over the sound mat. The aluminum plate is bolted over the carpet. I was thinking of using 1/2” MDF but the aluminum is very tight & stiff. I know it’s not going to be the best for base but I’m not listening to music that loud nowadays. I just wanted a little help for the 6.75” & twitters in the doors powered by a baby Infinity amp.

I’m more interested in the motor mods than the stereo.

The feet on the sub raise it above the mounting surface about an 1/8” and the plastic on the back of the seat vibrated against the underside of the sub.I used a little bit of foam to keep pressure on it when the seat is latched. Now it’s quiet. I’ll have to take it off and put something between the sub and the seat to fix the vibrations properly. Still overall happy with the setup, and didn’t really lose a whole lot of space overall.

Have you ever checked back there to see if it gets hot after an hour long ride? I started looking at this one and it seems to be very powerful for a powered sub. Adding it to my list of options.

There's two or three members here selling seat risers in B/S/T. Those would add a bit of room to help clear one of these subs. With the mb quart being sold through Amazon prime I might give one a shot.

my commutes are only around a half hour, haven’t done any road trips with it yet. I don’t have it cranked to full blast either. It’s made of aluminum which helps keep it cool as well. Can’t see it being an issue.

don’t think this we’ll help much. Unless you find one with a fairly small footprint. Vertical space isn’t the problem. There are ducts for the hvac under the seat that prevent the sub from sliding all the way under the seat. You would have to raise the seat a few inches to come close to clearing them. Then I would need a sunroof installed to keep my melon from hitting the roof.

In case it hasn't been posted, my Kicker Hideaway 8" fits under the front passenger seat although it's close. 2nd generation, 2015 DCLB.

I am pretty sure the Kicker 10" would be too tall.

@ryan20021982 Thanks. That would be great. If you was near, I’d trace out a Template on cardboard. I have a 2nd gen so it can’t be that far off in fitment

    thanks

UPDATE: reporting in on the Amazon MB Quart 8" sub box. Installed, it sounds really great, for $129 it was a money well spent and a solid upgrade. I ran 8ga power from my battery (fused), another $22 for that kit.

The sub has a lot of adjustments (level, bass ext, and frequency), I'm running it off a new Kenwood Excel DNX-697S HU, which a provides a bunch of internal features to fine tune the speakers and sub. The sub was Mounted on back of fold down rear seat. A good upgrade, you can play it loud or just right, a wide range.

Hey folks, after a month or two, still really enjoying the MB Quart 8” sub, I’m old +50 this kit provided just the right amount of bass to round out my DC. I would say it’s a solid unit well worth the $130 off Amazon.

The install took ~2 hrs, mostly running the power through the firewall and along the lower door trim. I secured the unit to the drivers side rear seat back, it drilled right in and this still provides ample storage in the rear seat back compartment.

I’m running it off a Kenwood Exceleron DNX-697S head unit, which has more power to upgraded RF 6-1/2s speakers added to my doors, way better sound than the OE Entune Plus driving the same speakers… The Kenwood has many features to help sync my MB Quart sub to the system. Once you get the settings dialed you can adjust the sub input level and frequency easily from the HU. I chose not to use the cord, level override, actually could not tell any difference when using it with the cord, it’s possible yhe Kenwood HU is overriding the settings…So I have the level input at +2 (low), it’s just right sounds perfect, with great low sub “hits” when needed, while not over the top. It can go loud, played with that with my windows down, it rocks.
