(resolved - Answer after market alarm system battery ... see notes for additional info if interested)
Hope this is not too simple of a question, can someone please help me identify this unit under the center console (between the seats) of my 00 Taco Prerunner Xtra-cab. Or direct me to an area here on TW.
    Thanks in advance.....

Maybe an aftermarket alarm system or remote start. For sure aftermarket with the double sided tape to the transmission hump. Pry it up and see if it's got any manufacturers labels, markings, model numbers, etc.

Data on the unit shows it as a battery, you are correct - aftermarket alarm. Have now removed: 2 speakers, rest button, battery and control component too. Thanks. Not sure what to do with them, but out of the truck. (key fob here somewhere) 20230526_163239.jpg

I lean more towards "trans warp module" or "FTL" drive myself, but both are terrible on the fuel economy of a Taco
