I searched TW for ideas, and came up with something that works well for me. I'll try to post pictures ,but I'm not sure I can do it on this tablet.

If I lived in the rust belt I'd do some kind of permanent installation under my vehicle, likely with carefully routed drip irrigation tubing and sprayers pointing at strategic locations along the body and frame. Park it, hook the hose up to a little connector under the bed, let 'er run a bit.

That sure would be sweet, but,I think it would be real hard to get the spray pattern where you want it without lowering the supply line to get the proper angle of spray. The mounting would also present the issue of punching more holes in the frame to retain the tubing in the proper place, compromising any rust treatment left from the factory. I would sure like to see a setup like that if anybody comes up with one.

That's a pretty sweet contraption, OP.

On the contrary, if you had a lift on the truck you could reach to use a power washer :boink:

My garage freezes when really cold, so my pressure washer lives in the basement in the winter. The garage is on the opposite end of the house as the walk in basement and I'm not going to drag the pressure washer thru the snow and back every time I need it. I also use it to clean under my wifes Avalon, which is why it is built low profile. The lift just isn't in the cards, I have a daughter with Downs syndrome, that has a hard time getting in , the way it is.

I have an unlimited car wash pass to my local car wash that does the under carriage.

$15/month and I use it all the time. Does a great job.

That's the hot set up. Ten bucks a pop for wash with undercarriage around here + twenty mile round trip.

I made something similar to yours the other day. I also reside in Ohio where they put brine and salt down if it gets colder than 35. I am curious if just spraying water on the under carriage removes all the salt or if I need to try and get some soap or cleaner as well to help get all of it off? Suggestions?

    It's the way to go.

All of the solutions I've seen posted here would freeze up solid in about 5 minutes here.

Great idea!! What do you do for a living? Very creative.

I'm in the South and for the first time I saw at a carwash that for an extra few bucks the machine would blast your under carriage. Thought it was pretty cool too.

Not a lot of salt here but lots GA clay.

    Thx for sharing your creation.

I just wanted to clean underneath between snows. I'm not going to worry about scrubbing or soap until after the snow is done for this winter. I worked for Morton Salt for 43 years, and the best thing to remove salt that I've found is water. Of coarse, I was an electrician l not a chemist.
