Within the 1st 6 months of owning my 2019 Tacoma, I bought a case of Eastwood Rubberized Rust Encapsulating aerosol cans, and sprayed my skid plate, cross members, frame rails, and leaf springs. I noticed a bit of rust poking through on the leaf springs because they flex, obviously. Lessons learned, I should have listened to the internet and avoided the rubberized undercoating. I guess I figured it has the rust encapsulating feature... anyways my real question is can I spray over the eastwood product with fluid film? or will it soften it and cause even more of a headache... Thanks

Fluid Film is Lanolin based and will not soften hard or rubberized coatngs although many have wished it would after using the wrong undercoating.
You can safely use lanolin based corrosion inhibitors over rubberized coatngs.

Fluid film would be my choice of undercoating. Reapply a few cans every year.

Generally speaking rubberized is a huge no-no as it traps moisture and promotes rust even faster than no rubberized. Yes, you might apply it to metal that is completely dry, but when it gets a puncture, tear, moisture will get in.

Fluid Film is the trusted choice. Buy a 6-pack on Amazon and that will do you.

Furthermore, do not power wash it off, just let it sit and re-apply as needed, usually once a year.

Finally, it will stink for a time, best to do it outside and let the vehicle sit outside.

Another alternative to FF is Wool Wax. Same lanolin base as FF, but it's thicker and doesn't have the smell of FF. I used Woolwax last year after a few years of FF and it seemed to hold up better, though we had a pretty weak winter this year, so who knows...

I've always used fluid film for the under carriage of my tundra, but considered something more loner lasting for my 2020 tacoma knowing you have to apply the fluid film every year cause it washes off. I went with cosomoline rp-342 after seeing a vehicle done with it.
