Well, I installed my Undercover Flex (from Scott at truckaddons.com), and have run into an interesting issue. Yes, I took my time and carefully aligned everything, centered the cover, checked all areas thoroughly during installation.

We had a bit of light rain this afternoon and I found water in the bed... more than a couple of drops.

Once I got home and looked, I noticed something about the drain fittings on the rails. The rails are mounted in the bed, and I notice that the 90 degree elbows that feed into the drain hoses don't really appear to have a decent seal inside the rail. Using a paper cup and a steady hand, I poured some water into the rail. While most water did correctly flow through the hoses and drain properly, I noticed quite a bit of water flowing on the OUTSIDE surface of the drain hoses and going into the truck bed.

Has anyone seen this happen before? Has anyone tried to put any kind of sealant (such as silicone) to seal the drain tube into the rail?

Although I had a great experience with truckaddons.com, I am starting to doubt the Undercover Flex. Almost tempted to try to return it for a BakFlip Fibermax. Thoughts?

Also, I THINK that this is the only place the leaks are coming from. Still plan on doing more checking.

ALMOST FORGOT: The drain hoses were MISSING from the Undercover package. Truckaddons DID take care of getting this worked out, but I fault Undercover for such a glaring error. Is their quality control having issues?

I would call undercover and leave them a message. They have good costumer service and should be able to work with you. I've heard some few bad things on the flex but you have to understand that this is a brand new product from undercover. They don't have all the bugs fixed but I'm sure they would be more than happy to help make your cover right.

I'm waiting for the bakflip VP myself.
