Does anybody have one of these tonneau covers on a gen 2 Taco, and do you know if this one piece lid will open 90 degrees if you disconnect the struts?

I had a snugtop fiberglass one years back and I could do that (I could stand on the bed rails while holding the lid fully open (straight up) and have a loader dump a cubic yard of mulch in the bed).

I now have a 2005 Taco with 6 ft bed and I found an Undercover SE for sale. This cover attaches to the rails and has a hinge like the hood of a car with a couple links rather than just a simple pivot point. Even the manufacturer could not tell me whether that hinge mechanism allows 90 degree motion with the struts disconnected.

    Anybody tried this?
    Thanks!
