Want to get one of these installed for some storage in the bed, waterproof, lockable etc.

They are designed to fit under a tonneau cover, but I would like to use this in the truck without a cover, but I have to figure out a way to keep it from being easily removed.

    This is how it attaches:

I want to figure out how to attach it to keep it secure enough to leave stuff in it, like tow straps, tie downs, etc. I will not keep expensive stuff in there. Basically, an alternative to putting lock cores in the factory storage bins, with a bit more waterproof storage.

Thoughts on securing the open lift-up hinges?

    Thanks!

Looks like there is a hole for a lock so it can't swing out or be removed.

Correct, and I forgot to mention that earlier - thanks for that!

I was trying to think of another method that did not involve a lock at all - like drilling and tapping the "stud" that the hinge sits on, then using security bolts to hold it in place, allowing a 3 minute (with correct tool) removal.

I have been racking my brain for a couple days, and the lock is probably where it will end up... but for now, it is my fall back plan.

    Thanks!
