Agreed! Any more photos of this? I'm thinking of doing this for some summer camping, maybe add in some flip down hard plastic sides.

Never got around to finishing this off :(ended up buying a travel trailer. I used it a bunch for carrying bigger loads as is though and it worked great.

    Sorry to disappoint

I want to find a pop-up Hard top tonneau that stops at the roof line and has soft sides, like the soft camper tops. Seems like an easy enough product to design. Do these exist?

    Between this:

    and this:

I do see the issue as NEAScott mentioned:

So I think something sturdy that pops straight up would be cool just want it to be a combo soft and hard topper. While down, it'll just look and act like a hard tonneau and up, be a good camper.

    Anyone?

What contraption did you use as the support the front of it? Did you build it yourself? I've been trying to do this with mine for awhile now and this has been a major roadblock until I found this thread.

    I have the same question.
Where did you get the ratcheting linear lifts for the front?
I have the Undercover hardtop tonneau. See picture.
I need to raise the tonneau front like this here.

    Thanks for the help.

    Revive...again...

I have the same tonneau cover and would love to replicate that design. Basically I want to keep the cover for looks and use it the way it can currently be used but also raise it all vertically to fit more in the bed like I would inside a cap.

Hey everyone. Been MIA for a while, that was 3 trucks ago. Just getting back into the Tacoma world. The ratcheting mechanisms at the front were heavy duty ratcheting load bars.

Hey welcome back! Im thinking about doing something similar, from your experience with this build, do you think this same concept would be possible with a retractable hard tonneau? Like a retrax or something? Would you be able to just lift the whole assembly together?
