Yup! Ordered from Autoanything for under the list price. Was pretty nervous with the freight delivery and the condition it would be in, but everything was well packed by undercover. The total install took about a half hour, brackets go on very quick. It's 2 measurements from the bulkhead. Definitely need to be exact as possible as it won't sit right if you're off. I put the cover on by myself, it's prob 60ish pounds or so. Would def recommend a second guy to assist as it's not so much the weight, but the size. Paint match looks great, my only gripe with it is the lock not working with the new square tailgate keys. They will ship you a key or lock and key combo that will work. I just feel they should have done that in the first place...

Thanks buddy, yea I'm digging it too...aside from the lock issue and having to need a extra key, not a huge deal. Hopefully they'll change the cylinders for the future, and the tailgate key will be compatible.

That's a cargo retrieval hook...meant to grab items at the top of the bed. That and an LED light are features that come with the elite covers.

Ahh, to be honest I'll probably never use it...kind of a gimmick IMO.

What is the length of overhang? I have a 2021 TRD Sport & the emblem appears to higher than the ones pictured. None of the dealers in my area have them in stock, so I can't tell if the overhang would cover part of the emblem.

Some of the boutique truck accessory places have little downsized versions of the covers as floor demos. Call around. You might be able to go in and see/measure one yourself. Or call Undercover, their customer service is excellent.

    Thread revival?

does anyone have a model # for the undercover se?

I found a used one for sale that a guy had on a 2nd Gen dclb (2015) and am wondering if it’ll fit my 3rd Gen dclb.

The plate on mine that has the serial # doesn’t have the model # unfortunately. Can’t find my paperwork from the order, it’s 3 years old now. Just call Undercover they should be able to tell you.

    866-900-8800

edit: I’m a short bed so you wouldn’t want my model number anyway

The model# for 2016-21 - UC4146 & 2015 - UC4066. You might also call Undercover to see if it can be retro fitted

Has anyone had a problem with the SE shifting & wearing the paint? I have seen a video of the paint wearing but don't know if it was due to improper installation & not a common problem.

I see where the model # is now, stamped in to the center underside of the cover in super large numbers. Yeah maybe the 2nd Gen lid would possibly work on the 3rd Gen with same or different set of attaching hardware. Hope it works out @Ehahn84

@novamchd I’ve had no paint wear issues on mine, the cover hangs over on all 3 sides and doesn’t come low enough or close enough to touch the paint. No issues on the back of the cab either. It’s a damn fine cover.

Does anyone know how much weight can be on the lid while it's raised up?

I'm kind of leaning towards putting a rack setup on one of these to carry smaller items etc or maybe an RTT.

This lid and the attaching hardware are not designed to open and close with weight attached. A RTT would be a terrible idea. Why would you want to have to lift the weight of a rack and tent every time you want to open the cover?

Honestly I just want a UTE Master LoadLid for the utility, but they don't make them for the Tacoma which kills me.

I'm trying to figure out if I can modify an existing product or make my own from scratch.

Or maybe, if a Hilux bed is close enough to a Tacoma bed I could...make that work.

However, very good to know about the weight.

You can stand on top of the cover all day, it’s very stable when closed, but it’s not designed to hold weight when being opened/closed.

There are rack systems designed to work with retractable roll up style covers which is really the only way a tonneau cover could be combined with a RTT.

There are other covers out there that can have racks placed on them for removable items like bikes or kayaks or whatever.

Hi, that is a nice set up. It got me thinking about getting the same instead of ARE cap (which are too expensive for me). I got a question for you. Does it get real hot in summer time ? and does it reduce the bed height at all? The reason I am asking is I want to put a Lithium battery (temperature concern) and a fridge (temperature and height concern) beneath it. Thanks in advance.
