Only way that would matter is if you are hauling something that sticks out above the bed. If not, then the rail system tie downs are useless. If it sticks outside of the bed, the cover isn't going to be on it, so then you can use all the rail system again:thumbsup:

I don't think that's true. Can't say from personal experience but it's what I gather from the many reviews I read. It seems as if the Velcro rails on many of the roll-ups use the factory rail system for mounting. And even when the thing is rolled up it you lose use of them. Plus the cargo divider uses the rail system, and it can be useful with or without oversized cargo.

Another concern I have is that I was going to mount bicycle fork mounts on the front rail. But that may be totally out of the question. More important to have a weatherproof cargo area.
With this cover, does the entire setup remove, making the truck completely stock? Or is there a frame or hinges or anything else left behind that takes up the front rail space? The front rail is where my bicycle mounts would go.

I have the Undercover cover. The Undercover SE might be different. When the cover is off, there will be two hinges (one on each side in the front, by the cab. This becomes the pivot point.), two L plates by the tailgate (this is where the locks come into play), and two eye-bolts (where the shocks/struts attach). Nothing really takes up the front rail by the cab.

I was refering to the undercover...not the velcro. Also, someone else on here had a brand new canvus cover and someone flicked a cigarette on it when he was in a store and burned a whole in it. This won't and can't happen on and undercover. Mine is even water tight :D

sorry to bump a 2 year old thread, but I just ordered the undercover SE after seeing at at my local truck and trailer dealer in Chattanooga. This thing is very solid, and weighs only 58 lbs. The hinge points and gas struts both have quick release mechanisms which allows you to remove the top for full bed access in just a few minutes.

The thing I really liked was how the cover covered the caps and doesn't create a channel for water to infiltrate. It's a one piece ABS composite. The security of this compared to other similar covers is comparable. If someone wants in to ANY bed cover, they will get in. I combined mine with a pop-n-lock tailgot lock and pipe clamp mod for the tailgate.

I purchased mine for $775 with free install.

Another feature you'll like is the low maintenance of it. Maybe some Armorall or some other treatment every-so-often and it's good. I've only treated mine once or twice, in the 6 years I've had it and it still looks good.
