Thanks man. I have decided to re paint the truck. Have not decided what color. Input is much appreciated. Victory red, purple, orange, black, and Ferrari yellow have been thrown around. On the hood, doors, and (maybe) the roof will bear "88" for obvious reasons.

I'm kinda digging your Red/Black theme going on you suggested, I think it'd suite the build well

Maybe like a deep red base with jet black accents? If I do go red it can't be bright, but you do have my wheels turning in that direction.
Szepi made a good point to me about doing all purple...can't say much, but I will say....kool-aid.

I know what you meant when you mentioned what szepi said. Lol.. I still think it would be awesome and hilarious. Lol.

I actually like the white and purple. Or go all white.. so you'll have an all black, and all white :)

you sure about that? Could have sworn I had grape look aid sent to me when i was deployed :spy:
The thing that's bothering me now is that my buddy has time to paint, and I could have had the Tacoma done this week. So I want to compensate with the 88 and go over it with a single stage paint so I have a clear coat, and not have the thing look as old as it is. I did consider all white, but I'm just more of a dark color guy.

I dont know does that count? I thought Chappelle was talking about the carbonated grape drink. I may be wrong though, I guess purple flavoring would be a grape drink too

I had some grape juice with dinner tonight it was delicious.

On that note, I have made it my mission tonight to tally up complete build costs for this truck minus LT costs since I'm not doing that for a long while. I will post the parts listing on here for all of you to see what kind of :crapstorm: I'm in for.

This is my projected build cost per parts, not including any shipping, and not including any set backs of disassembling a 23 y/o truck.

    F/R Lockers: $679.90
    Ring and pinions F/R: $553.90
    Bottom end gasket kit: $54.95
    Tube doors: $200
    Engine/Transfer case mounts: $200
    Paint: $50
Ball joints, pitman arm, idler arm, and tie rods (all Moog): $423.97
    Steering stabilizer: $51.95
Armor: $???.??? (need some custom work done).

    Total build cost: $2,214.67

note:This list is subject to change in the form of additions. Please recommend anything you think I have missed. I will edit/re-post this as the list updates.

Today Spezzy and I conquered some small projects. I finally got the plugs on the rear diff and transfer case off. Scary part was that the fill plug required max setting to break loose, and the housing around the drain plug is damaged from hitting rocks. None the less the came off, and got those fluids changed.

After lunch we tackled some of the wires that were lying around doing nothing and figured out what purpose they served. 90% of them served no purpose, but we did manage to purpose one of them, but the light we were attempting to wire proved to be no good :( new dome light coming soon

Right? We came pretty close to wiring up some neon's that my buddy took off his truck (because they were dumb of course), and using one as my interior lighting (as a joke).

I priced out tires today and I'll be getting the mud terrain version of the Kumho's I have on the taco and that will get me out under a grand for 5 tires shipped.

A part of me wants to derail the saving train a bit to go buy rhino liner to do the interior, but two more paychecks should cover all the steering components, and tube doors. The hard part at this point is not what to do but what order to do it in.

Thanks man. It would. Washing it today I realized that I don't want a clear coat on it because I don't want to have to towel dry it to prevent water spots. Satin black would look REALLY good...hmmm :spy:
