Had X-Men Origins had not come on I may have made more progress today. I managed to get both knuckles and the third member pulled. I spent the remainder of the afternoon threading out the studs. The driver side studs started giving me problems so I had to stop before I ran out of beer.

The third member is in immaculate shape. The gear are 4.11's but what mattered to me was the carrier and bearings. There is zero signs of abuse to the third which makes me excited because it lives up to that old saying "they don't make em like they used to".

I am considering keeping these birfields but will get the opinion of my unit's machinist's on them first. Tomorrow I might take another look at the hubs before I take the knuckes to the wash rack.

Sanding down the truck today and if all goes well I'll have the bedliner on it by the end of the weekend.

Forgot to post these up. Took duplicolor kevlar bedliner to the whole truck. It called for a light scuffing but said eff that and hit it with 400 grit sand paper all the way around. These pictures are with one coat final product has three and came out awesome.

Not sure. They came with the truck. I honestly haven't tried to compare them to see who makes em.

Tempting inquiry. I'm gonna start contemplating the flat bed look/function :spy:

So a finance issue with the Army caught up to me today. I have to pay back a sizable amount of money. This has caused a HUGE change of plans so this project is going to go on the back burner.

Yes. Indeed. For the sake of getting this rig home, I rebuilt the front end. In the interest of having more cash to be financially secure after the Army, I sold the front axle parts. The truck is solid for the exception that the exhaust broke in half on my way home from California. I didn't realize how dependent the 22RE was on back pressure until the moment it snapped. So for now it sits and waits for monies.
    Thanks again man.

Time and acquisition of tools will tell the tale. I'm still considering the idea but projects are kind of on the back burner.

I watched my 88 Pickup drive off with its new owner yesterday. It's the first time I saw it driving down the street and at that moment realized just how cool it looked in motion. I feel good though because it went to a young man with plenty of time to build it, and no bills to hold him back. The time has come to focus all efforts and what little spare time I have towards the Tacoma and finish my vision for it. Thank you everyone that contributed your thoughts for this truck, I am sure the new owner may turn here for the same support. /rant and build thread.
