Worst new vehicle I ever bought. The radio freezes and the only way to get it to work is to shut the vehicle off and turn back on - sort of awkward when driving. The mirrors suck, too far away from the actual vehicle side creates massive blind spots. On occasion the "pre-collision system says "BRAKE" when nothing is in front of you. The "adaptive cruise control is pain. T he doors sound cheap and tinny when you shut them. As soon as I get "not upside down" on the loan I'll be selling.

The dealership is zero help with the radio and pre-collision system issues. Any thoughts out there?

I see based on your truck info, you bought the POS trim, should have gotten a sport, off road or Pro.

Sell it to carvana. They might give you more than you think.

    May just try that.

Oh and for the snarky replies, yes I did test drive, but sort of hard to test drive the radio and pre-collision issues...

What, did your sales person not allow you to turn on the radio?

Take it to another dealer ... address your issues with the radio and collision sensor .get some blind spot mirrors ... don’t man handle the doors . These are minor problems that can easily be fixed or get used to . Does your truck start ?? Drive ... how is it a pos . I think your expectations are seriously to high. Give the truck a chance work your bugs out and I guarantee you will love the truck . Every new vehicle has issues that’s what a warranty is for.

Yes, but it didn't happen during the test drive, it only happens about 1-2 times a month. I'm beginning to underrstand this forum is all about drinking the tacoma koolaid, and not helping out with problems

You clearly didn’t pay attention during the check out this on the lot phase, the doors didn’t just start being cheap sounding, the mirrors didn’t just start giving big blind spots.

I test drove my 01 and my 06 with the radio off so I could listen for anything that sounded weird. I wouldn't have known if I had working speakers until the paperwork was signed.

You'll get a bit of that, as this is an enthusiast site obviously and we are aware of the Tacoma's shortcomings (albeit yours are pretty new)

These sort of rants appear on Fridays and it's pretty crazy and fun to read them

The collision system during cruise has a sensitivity setting you can adjust, it's in your manual

It will also learn your driving habits as time progresses and will chill out considerably, also in your manual

A good set of blind spot mirrors will help with your blind spot issues

If you really want to keep the truck, the door panels remove easily and sound deadening material can be added to help with your problem there

Take care and keep the truck for a while, it'll grow on you

I love my Tacoma. It's got 200K miles on it, it's 17 years old. My radio doesn't work half the time I'm in it.

You come on here bashing your 2020 calling it a "pos" and what do you expect, people to feel sorry for you?

WELL, it's a truck. A basic one at that.

Assuming this is your first pick-up, what vehicle did you come from? I went from a 2011 Audi A4 to a 2014 taco. First impression: Why did I spend so much on so much less. Fast forward three years, and the only thing the truck has needed has been oil changes.

Learn to love it or move on.

I'll go out on a limb and say that anybody who complains about massive blind spots doesn't know how to set their mirrors.

    Welcome to Friday on TW!

If this was a serious problem go to the dealer! Make it a point in the showroom with the GM!! Also call corporate and complain. A simple google search for the number.
Thats what I did. Once you get a reps # at corporate call him daily! Tell them about the dealer not helping. They will replace it. I plan on replacing with aftermarket radio but..... I had a similar issue in my ‘17. It’s Toyota’s garbage Entune system. (Not sure operating system on the 2019) Haven’t had a problem with the radio since replacing it.

    The TSS?
I have no idea. I bought my 2017 because it had zero TSS !

Not hardly my first truck. Previous was a 99 Dakota w/ 265K miles. Factors and magnitudes better vehicle. However after 20 years thought I might just try something newer. Bad decision...

Parting thought for all the kool-aid drinkers

You're catching me on the first day of me trying not to be an asshole, so here goes:

    • The mirrors can be adjusted. No blind spots on my truck, and I have the same one as you.
    • The radio does suck, but thankfully they can be changed out. It was the first mod I did because I did my research and heard all the horrors that is Entune. I made a profit between the two radios.
    • The collision system does occasionally have false warnings. Try cleaning the sensor.
    • No cheap sounding doors here, check the weather seal.
    • Radar cruise is a learning curve that requires you to be more proactive than you are used to. Or, turn it off and it works as standard.
    • Find a new dealer.
