im going to assume that the front LBJ on 1st gen are like the ones on 3rd gen 4runner.

Wonder if anyone has seen this or even bought this or have any thoughts of opinions on it. IT IS NOT MADE BY ME! I simply want to share this and hear what other people have to say. Seems like tacoma is a good and large group of people.

Looked at the ebay listing again, Looks like the force is being held by the snap ring. Not how it should be done, and that will fail before the factory Ball joint.

This picture shows how it would be installed it the vehicle, lots of force being held by that snap ring.

And for the price, you could buy a few sets of OEM lower ball joints and still be under the price for that. And is it sold as a pair or a single?

DO NOT, DO NOT BUY THOSE

The guy that builds those is a complete idiot. I asked him simple questions like "How much misalignment do they have?" and his reply was "yes". He didn't cycle them. He simply put them on his stock 4Runner and drove it around the block. That was his "Test". They are unsafe and not secured correctly.

I have to agree, all the weight on that and after repeated bumps/slams it could pop the casing out as well. would have been better to design to push in from the top so the weight keeps the insert and off the snap ring.

They are inserted from the top hence the snap ring. The uniball cup needs to be 180 from how it is now for the load to be carried on the shoulder of the cup.

    exploded view for reference.

It's in correctly. the stud is pulled down by the weight of the vehicle.
I don't see any improvement over stock OEM. IMHO worse.

That uniball LBJ you shared from T4R is a different member with a different design. Not the same as the one for sale on eBay. He stopped making them

Lol im just reading through these cause I was curious about the Uniball. That definitely sounds unsafe but calling someone an IDIOT who fabricated a part with meticulous measurements just don’t sit right lol. Maybe he’s a jackass idk lmao

What if its a 1" Unitball into the lower? I've seen it done.

That's what solo is using with their spindles/lowers.
    Toyota_Lower_Uniball_Heim_Steering_Upgrade_1.jpg

The 1" from what I saw seems to be to be significantly stronger than the 7/8th other people are using.
